I know you mean well, but damage is already done. Pike might be here another year but there’s no way we are going back to the dance with hiim. Changes being suggested are beyond his capability/willingness to make. The poor recruiting, portal decisions, mind numbing substitutions and in game coaching can’t be fixed. Moreover, we have a serious culture problem - exhibited in the product on the floor and on comments folks like Cam Spencer and analysts/announcees have made.
Our only chance is with a new coach. Whenever that will come.

Buddy…Pike is owed $30 million, he’s here until he doesn’t want to be here or 2030 whichever comes first. I’d like to see Pike fired tomorrow but it’s dumb to even discuss as it’s financially impossible for RU to get rid of the guy unless he retires.

I undertand that take. But the people who think they this CF can be fixed with Pike at the helm are sadly mistaken.

You STOP.

Can we give him a chance to make changes first? He's owed another chance to get with the times imo.

That said, if we get no staff turnover with offensive minds coming in, grant/Lathan leave, and we bring in underwhelming portal pieces, my patience will be gone too.

Guuess you forget an under .300 percentage Eddie Jordan?
No tournament bids for 30 years?
A Covid Year knocking us out of a tourney?
UConn and their classy coach who RU helped immensely (When was the last time a Hurley helped Ru?) winning a Natty with our starting point guard?
RU getting hosed out of a bid two short years ago?
RU playing a play in game against ND when it probably should have been Indy?
Many of you whining were perfectly fine with giving up a home game to the Garden?
Many of you ripped Simpson to high heaven and that JMike was the 2nd coming of Allen Iverson?
Pike’s fault we couldn’t stop Bama for buying Cliff?
Pikes’s fault Acuff broke his foot?

SMH!

Guuess you forget an under .300 percentage Eddie Jordan?
No tournament bids for 30 years? (No)
A Covid Year knocking us out of a tourney? (I’ll grant you this)
UConn and their classy coach who RU helped immensely (When was the last time a Hurley helped Ru?) winning a Natty with our starting point guard? (Nope, sorry. Can had indicated there was ab culture problem here - verified now)
RU getting hosed out of a bid two short years ago? (We controlled our destiny but dropped some bad games at the end of the year)
RU playing a play in game against ND when it probably should have been Indy? (Wrong)
Many of you whining were perfectly fine with giving up a home game to the Garden? ( I wasn’t fine with this)
Many of you ripped Simpson to high heaven and that JMike was the 2nd coming of Allen Iverson?( lol who ever said that)
Pike’s fault we couldn’t stop Bama for buying Cliff? (I think Cliff wanted a chance to develop more as he knew he reached his threshold with pike. But I do blame pike for not raising enough NIL money ri either keep Cliff or get a competent center - and for entertaining the whims of a 17 year old )
Pikes’s fault Acuff broke his foot? (No, but if you think Acuff would have made a big difference this year then 🤪

Being a head coach at Rutgers is a daunting challenge because there lacks a culture in winning against league competition.This basketball season has been a great disappointment because the team has no half court offense and the defense can't stop opponents from making uncontested layups and wide open 3 pointers.The coaches are to blame along with the entire roster.The initial excitement watching Bailey and Harper has faded away because of injuries/illness along with uninspired performances.

Agree that I don't think he cant turn it around. We'll see what happens in the offseason though. He's going to need big time portal guys to turn the corner again and they cost alot.

If some are Pike Rehabilitators, would you be president of the "let's root for Pike to fail" club?
No one is rooting for him to fail. That's insane. We just don't think he can succeed here going forward. Pretty big difference. We are all heavily invested in this program on many levels. Pretending we don't have a problem doesn't make things better

Not sure the point to the OP. Isn't this discussion already being had in every thread? This just "Look at Me!"?
My point is people are thinking Pike doesn’t recover from this and people are coming up with crazy solutions that are untenable and impractical.
BTW, I have nothing personal against pike. I just am a huge RU bball fan, like all of you. And he is an impediment to long term success here.

Well,

if you understand that pike isn’t going anywhere - then you need to understand that:

1) talking about pike leaving right now is a waste of time; and

2) the only thing worthy of discussion (as far as coaching goes) IS what changes he can make.

1. Pike is stubborn;
2. Pike is loyal to a fault;
3. Coming into the bigggest season in RU history, he failed to surround Ace and Dylan with an adequate supporting cast;
4. The team is a laughingstock and this season cannot be recovered from - what kid wants to come here;
5. Team culture is broken - too much of a players coach;
6. His in game coaching and substitution patterns - both mind numbing at time - haven’t adjusted in nine years
7. He can’t teach offense.
So respectfully, other than changes in the margins, the guy is fundamentally flawed as a coach, recruiter and talent evaluator. You can’t fix that.

So what is your point?

Just like to bitch?

You acknowledge he isn’t going anywhere, so……….

Whatever happens is going to happen. If people want to put out there idea's on what Pike would need to do to recover, so what, it doesn't change anything . Only so much to go back and forth on when things suck.

He’s not here until 2030. Two more bad years and he’s gone. Not sure if it comes to that .

A fair and balanced counterpoint is that you're a ho.

Funny how OP doesn’t spam the board with the same tired talking points after we win.

Lou just needs to admit that he’s pissed off Rutgers won last night.
LOL. We won against a crappy Washington team and truthfully could have lost. This means nothing in the long run. Just wait til next year!

My
Any team in any game "truthfully could lose". That's why the games are played.

And we didn't lose, we did the opposite, we won. Sorry to ruin your day.
I'm happy we won, but honestly dumbfounded at the unbridled glee from some fans here thinking this changes the season narrative.
