Pike should run clinics on how to shoot poorly. We’re the worst shooting team in the country annually. We shoot as well as Wimsatt throws an accurate pass.

i can’t take one thing anymore. Every start to the season, a color commentator mentions how pike raves about the shooting potential of this-season’s team.

I can’t anymore

Nearly every player is a worse shooter when he leaves than when he arrived. As long as he is not running the clinic.

Good shooting comes with repetition and practice. You can’t put all of the blame on Pike. Individual players bear more responsibility.

It’s just crazy to me how poorly we shoot every year. Layups, 3s, free throws… all poor

A) Pike is a defensive coach. Always has and always will. Defense travels and in college basketball and you must be good on D.

B) many fans wrongly thought this team would drastically change to a fast paced offense. That is very hard to do in one season.

C) they don’t have the players for a fast pace offense. This team lacks highly skilled player. Next year is a different story. Ace and Dylan (assuming he is at RU) will give RU to chance to play up and down. We’ll see what that looks like.

This year all the Rutgers teams have difficulty scoring.I don't know if its coaching or recruiting or a combination of both.

The skill level on this team is the lowest I have seen in 6-7 years. It’s never good when your most skilled player outside of Cliff is a freshman who is trying to figure things out.

Not when everyone shoots worse.
combination of lower skill players and inexperience. Guys are bumping into each other out there and look out of sorts. Passes aren’t crisp and there is too much standing around. I expect the coaches to get that straightened out but the lack of skill concerns me.

To paraphrase a football response from the Tampa Bucs first coach when asked what he thought about his team's execution, he said "I'm all for it"
"Coach Pike, what do you think about your team's shooting? I'm all for it!"

Pike needs to hire an assistant coach next year who is an offensive guru.

Kind of what I was looking for above, although the original was from Casey Stengel regarding the bumbling Mets.

You could have been in Iowa City yesterday too but you chose not to

RU MBB needs to be on cable more often
Indeed. But people framing something that requires a $10 subscription as making them "unable" to watch is dumb. Especially since cable TV also costs money.

Look, I respect the decision not to subscribe to Big Ten Plus.

Good shooting comes from repetition and practice. Pike runs practice. It's not his fault. OK, that makes sense. He and his staff deserve much of the blame. If it was one kid OK, but it's a lot of kids. Also, repetition of poor fundamentals yields worse results.

I don't. If you care enough about Rutgers basketball to waste your time on a message board complaining about not watching games, you care $10 bucks worth
