Hope Mulcahy likes Pikes a lot too.
Kevin Ollie coming tomorrow*I like that our head coach is there and UCONN and Temple have assistants there, just saying...

Btw, I don't know if Ollie is going to be there tomorrow. I was kidding...that's why I put the asterix there. That's what y'all do right or is that a different board?
My point with that previous post is that the head coach can only be at one place at a time just because he wasn't at a school on Wednesday doesn't mean he won't be at that school the next day they have open gym.
It's that time of the year, coaches will be hitting two or three schools some days some days the only visit one.
Like Russ said, always worry. Just because two recruits picked us doesn't mean the next two automatically will. UConn is still a big name program. Not everyone is aware that Rutgers is a program on the rise. Kids that have grown up in this area mainly know Rutgers as a laughingstock and have seen UConn win two of the last seven NCAA championships.
As long as Rutgers keeps progressing and Pikiell keeps hustling on the recruiting trail, they'll win their fair share of battles.
RU is a better school and student experience than UConn.
Now RU plays in a much better conference than them too.
Pike is going to get this program to levels we have not seen in decades.
I can't speak to the student experience, having only attended Rutgers and not UConn, but they are currently ranked a decent step ahead of Rutgers in the US News Rankings for academics.
I agree that Pike has it in him, but these things take time.
Always worry, you're a fan.

This ! USNWR were called out a few years ago by many colleges and some even stopped submitting data. When some of the criteria is how much money is donated and how many people donate that really doesn't show actual academics. There are other criteria that makes no sense either. RU will never be high in donations for many reasons.Everyone who knows anything about academics knows that US New ranking are nothing but Bull sh*t & those ranking have nothing to do with real academics
I seriously can't handle it eitherI read the first two words of the thread title and almost had a heart attack.. such is life being an RU fan

When I give RU tours I talk about rankings from places like Money magazine our Forbes etc that show how many RU grads get good jobs and the pay they make. Let alone RU usually at the top in the nation with student awards like Gates, Fulbright and others, we are usually right with the Ivy's on those.
Add to that the research money sent our way. I could go on but you get my drift. I do have to give USNWR credit they have done a great job of promoting their rankings to the point some people swear by them.
I seriously doubt school rankings in media publications is a major issue in attracting top tier recruits. Its about winning at a very high level for a consistent period of time. The one and done recruiting phenomena makes a joke of academic standards.Where is Kentucky ranked, cause they don't seem to have many problems landing kids
