1. James ran well. On that first long run, he broke a tackle before Apple ran him out of bounds.
2. The first drive on offense until the missed field goal.
3. The defense on tOSU's first drive.
4. Cioffi had a good game on defense and special teams. Braxton Miller's deep catch in the second quarter was beautiful. Cioffi was beat, and almost broke up the play.
5. Hester had a good game. He rode Elliot down when he broke through to the secondary early in the 3rd quarter. He made a nice play in the third quarter that was flagged and then unflagged.
6. Arcidiacono's pass/catch was a great call. Bosa was on the sidelines for that play.
7. It was only 7-0 23 minutes into the game. The wind got sucked out of the stadium on the second touchdown.
8. Laviano made some great passes in the first half. He also made some good decisions on throwing the ball away. When Nelson muffed the snap late in the second quarter, he showed good heads up scooping it up and throwing the ball away.
9. Rettig's completion to Agudosi was perfectly thrown.

Miscellaneous
1. That was not a first down on Ohio State's second drive at the 2 yard line. Fowler and Herbstreit agreed that it was a bad call.
2. JT Barrett is a pretty good QB. His fake handoffs to Elliot and his head fakes when passing were throwing RU's defense off all night.
3. RU's special teams play really set the offense back for most of the game.
4. That Joey Bosa is pretty good too. I had Knightmares of him running through and past Denman and Miller and harassing Laviano.
5. Regarding #2--Laviano needs to learn to not stare down his target.

JT Barrett isn't good, he's legitimately great. We tackled Elliott pretty well in the first half holding him to 1.7 ypc, while the only thing tackling Barrett was his own teammates.

Other than the incident, how did you like the play Mrs. Lincoln?

This post is soooo sad.
I tell my 10 year old daughter, that was a nice foul ball you hit, after we get mercy ruled and lose 15-0 in 4 innings.
Well, you either dust yourself off after a drubbing, look back on what you did wrong (and there was plenty--probably enough to fill 2 pages), and look back on what you did right, and prepare for the next game.

Our secondary is young and full of freshman. They are learning the hard way. The defensive line did not do them any favors last nigh in the second half.

As usual, we got mauled in the trenches. Other side was too big, too strong, too athletic.

If you would like, we can cancel the rest of the season. Our two toughest opponents are out of the way.

there really were not any positives from last night except maybe that Rettig might see more time going forward

best part of the day was the tailgating

I'll play. One thing I liked was our short yardage push. Went for it on 4th an 1 on the first drive and blew them off the ball. We did it at least twice against IU too, pushing the pile three yards each time. Martin and James looked good in limited action.

Sun is shinin' in the sky
There ain't a cloud in sight
It's stopped rainin', everybody's in the play
And don't you know, it's a beautiful new day, hey
Runnin' down the Avenue
See how the sun shines brightly
In the city on the streets where once was pity
Mr. Blue Sky is living here today, hey
Mr. Blue Sky, please tell us why
You had to hide away for so long, so long
Where did we go wrong?
Mr. Blue Sky, please tell us why
You had to hide away for so long, so long
Where did we go wrong?
Hey, you with the pretty face
Welcome to the human race
A celebration Mr. Blue Sky's up there waitin'
And today is the day we've waited for, ah ah
Mr. Blue Sky, please tell us why
You had to hide away for so long, so long
Where did we go wrong?

Guys stop please.

Be upset but ease off the drama. Teams get blown out every week. I believe this team will give us more to be proud of again this year.

Must have missed what the first thing to be proud about? Was it the emails or 6 arrests?

Or was it beating Kansas and Indiana? You do know this is the football team, right?

Holding Ohio State to less than 60 points is a positive.Fans leaving early in the second half made it easy for the die hards to exit the stadium without much delay.

Positives:
Carroo, when able to play
Agudosi
Paul James
Laviano, in spurts during the first half
Rettig, when finally allowed to play
Cioffi
The Blue Lot tailgating was excellent.

What exactly have they done to make us proud so far that you say again? Was it beating a 1-AA team, beating the worst team in FBS or coming back against the perennial cellar dweller in the league?

See, you are part of the reason this program has not escalated and progressed as it should. The accepting fan, the fan who looks at mediocrity and accepts it's outcome. While other fan bases are demanding better for their Universities, ours looks at a bunch of crappy Bowl wins, 7 win seasons and remark how much better our program is than it was 100 years ago. Even though we have never won a Division Title, or become a destination for top recruits in the most fertile recruiting area in the country.
You are the fan who admires a coach because the teams APR is in the top ten, or because his players don't get into trouble like other programs. Well guess what, THAT is not the case anymore!
If we have to eat stale bread, at least give me a nice piece of baked ham in the middle.

Meanwhile, the winning programs, with great reputations, active fan bases, are firing coaches who do not produce 10 wins consistently per year. They DEMAND excellence, excuses of a young secondary, or do they want them to "look back and see what they did wrong." Are all pathetic reactions of losers. The only reason that this program continues to get mauled by other programs(2 and 20) is we have NO leadership! That is what went wrong! There are two types of coaches, the ones who are administrators(Schiano), and the one that lead their teams to wins, by preparation(Meyer), enthusiasum, education, a winner, and most important the will to beat anyone! Unfortunately, our coach(your buddy) is neither! He is still a math teacher, masquerading as a Division I head coach. And, as a result this program is suffering.

Rutgers HAS to spend the money for a viable, qualified Coach who can lead this program into the next level. And, to find that person, you may have to kiss a lot of pretenders, on the way to finding the Prince Charming this University deserves! But, the action has to be taken.
Sorry if I ruffled some feathers, it's just getting really old.

Ridiculous post. Blown away in 4 B1G games last year. OSU had not blown anybody away this year until last night.
Fudd can't beat any Teams with winning record.

Before calling others part of the problem, how much did you give last year, and did you up your contribution by 10% or more? I did the latter. Maybe the fans who sold their tickets to tOSU fans can donate their profits and we can get funds for a new coach.

There is no leadership from the top down, starting with the President and going down from there. You can point your fingers all you want at fans on message boards who will not shit on the players after a loss, but the real problems (1) the leadership who can change the head coach (2) the purported lack of funds to buy a new coach-which is a leadership problem and a fan problem.

Until those issues are addressed, nothing will change. Posting diatribes like a 5 year old child in the middle of game or 5 minutes after a loss will not change anything.

Shift....com'on...we had 2 good drives the entire game: the very 1st, when we were pumped-up and their D was feeling us out, and the very last, against a 2nd team that looked like it really didn't care. Once OSU started, we couldn't stop them, until they decided to pack it up with nearly a quarter left in the game.

There is nothing positive to take away from last night. Not a damn thing.

(p.s. - even Maryland put up 28 points and 400 yards of offense against OSU's D)

The Floodies are part of the problem.

Aside from Purdue would any p5 fanbase have a 5% that crows about beating Indiana?

It seems to me that the blue sky decided when Schiano walked out the door, we should just never expect to beat any good teams and that would be that.

You're kidding op right?
Ok I'll bite. The tailgate I was at was fantastic and no one threw up.
This is really sad
