Post Game Press Conference - Look Who Is On The Dais With Pikiell

Happy for Jake, but totally dejected by the team's worst performance of the year.

Iowa was ready to play.Rutgers was a no show for one of the few remaining winnable games. The performances at the RAC against league opponents have been very disappointing.

This game was deplorable. Probably our two easiest home games in the BIG this year were Penn State and Iowa and we were not ready to play in either of them. Iowa started 3 freshmen and they played as hard as they could and took it to us all night. They ran us out of the gym. We came into the game with no intensity at all. We had 5 turnovers in the first 4 and a half minutes and we had terrible shot selection from the very beginning. A team is not going to win many if only two guys play well. This was an absolute disgrace. We beat Nebraska and played hard against Wisconsin and than this happened tonight. We only lost by 6 points at Iowa 2 weeks ago and they took us to school tonight. I think the team took Iowa for granted and there is no excuse.

Nigel hurt his ankle. He wasn't out for nothing

not sure why you are bring up Nigel to my post here but....

and it was Nigel's bonehead no chance circus style move and shot that caused the injury...much like when Corey went down with his ankle. Costly because better ball iq and he wouldnt have been injured.

Nigel had an open three in the corner and instead drove the baseline among the trees and threw up a circus shot which had no chance of going in and he hurt his ankle. What he was thinking I have no idea.

So i decided to have dinner as i watched rhe game. Had 2 mouth fulls and game was over, omg was a horrible tv game.

Did Jake run the RAC stairs before the presser? Sounded like he was breathing pretty heavily

There will be a LOT of soul searching
Most of our kids arent used to losing this many in their entire high school career

Still they have done better than I expected in a post EJ, total rebuild , 1st year new coach season

I know I am a tad depressed...I can imagine how the guys feel...

On that play Nigel appeared to be selfishly holding on to the ball rather than pass off to a team mate..... Just a horrible team performance , especially disappointing coming after the Wisconsin effort...

Nigel was great vs occ sched but B10 exposed him.
He's simply asked to do too much, which is the case with our entire roster sans Sanders. Our roster is comprised of complimentary players, most of whom would do fine as an 8-minute reserve on most other B1G teams. Our problem is we have to rely on them to play 20+ minutes at RU.

Tell all 13 B1G non RU coaches they can take 2 RU players off our roster right now and have them until the end of the season. Most would take 2 of those complimentary players.

very disappointing. I expected a convincing win. Dead wrong.

I judge the rest of the season not by rebounding, or defense, but by ball security.

Passing needs major work. Sanders over opponent passing, lack of any pep to passes, no bounce passes, poor entry passes. Could I do better? No, but I am not on scholarship. I have been watching these passes since the beginning of the year.

To get offensive possessions, we need to keep possession. Passing and turnovers are the main thing that need to change going forward.

They may be a better team without Jok.

I would say they definitely are. He takes on the majority of the teams offensive role, and the rest of the team does not need to work for baskets. They are comfortable with him carrying the load. Defensively, that is not a hard game plan.

Simply a case of stage fright and being tongue-tied. He doesn't have much (any?) experience being the team spokesman on a post-game dais.
If that is what it was, I'm glad he didn't hyperventilate and pass out. That was disturbing to listen to

Nigel was flexing his leg and holding his quad. Now it's an ankle?

People are making drama out of this Johnson case.

He hurt his leg. Sure, maybe Coach wasn't thrilled with his offensive shot selection, but christ.

Let's not turn this into the Kardashian show.

I'd take gawking at Kim's ass any day over what I witnessed the other night.

How is a team with one B1G win taking ANYONE for granted, let alone a team with much better players?
