This was a good recap. One of the few you see from the midwestern writers, especially when they talk about Rutgers.

They have to be. We are unpredictable and putting up points, something we have not done in a while.

My take by their sections:

Rutgers rushing versus Purdue against the run

If they say their DL is hurt and LBs will have to plug holes fast.. then maybe we try running first.. but if they need to take risks to stop the run, then it will be a great week to find TEs to pass to over the middle on play-action. We should pair that with sending speedy Crikshank deep very early.. get their safeties backpeddling if they seem exposed to the deep ball early... don't even have to hit it.. just make em fear we could hit it.

The above is a pass to set up the run strategy... keep their LBs from filling holes too aggressively..

Rutgers passing game versus Purdue against the pass

Sounds like they don't respect our passing game.. particulary the deep ball... which can hurt them. Might be a good week to have a package for Sitkowski.. in particular if get behind and have to throw long.

Purdue run game versus Rutgers against the run

They seem to be very happy Rondale Moore is back.. and that they throw those "forward passes" behind the LOS.. which means downfield blocking by WRs on pass plays that are more like run plays. Think we'll need to jumpo those routes.. which risks a stop and go route hitting big.

Purdue passing game versus Minnesota against the pass

They have been passing well.. and we have been giving up passing yards. QB seems elusive too.. 'nuf said.

Intangibles

"Rutgers is dead last in the Big Ten in penalties.".. still being treated like the noobs 7 seasons in. Since the refs "owe Purdue one".. they likely get it at home. Which would fit with how Big Ten refs treat Rutgers overall.

If OSU doesn't play another game it looks like Indiana will win the Big Ten East and probably would not face Wisconsin in the championship game.. might be Indiana vs Northwestern on December 19.
