What if Flood stays, and RU has a good season next year? This is possible due to many returning starters, Hamilton coming back, and maybe a once in 20 year QB recruit coming in. My question to the current people saying they will sell some or all your tickets if Flood stays....... Do you really want to significantly jeopardize your seat location and your priority points. For us, we will take advantage by moving closer to the 50 and passing a boatload of fans in points and improving our parking. BTW, I'm not a Flood fan, I'm an RU fan and root for the team and players.

Russo is far from a sure thing, and what makes you think Flood will start Russo over Laviano? Tom Savage also was an elite 11 recruit, but after a successful freshmen campaign, he struggled during his sophmore year due to a bad OL and subsequently transferred. As long as Flood is wedded to Laviano we will not have a good year. which is why many expect next year to be a repeat of this year, if Flood remains, or not much different.

Further investing in a bad product sends the opposite message of what is intended. i intend to do the minimum, drop down to one ticket and make the minimal donation, and there will be others like me.

If we go all the way back to 2014 level... I'm OK with missing that. It was still a bunch of blowouts and close games against bad teams.

Still, I may keep a couple of tickets just to keep my place in line if the next President turns out to give a shit.

Fair points from a fan who is an optimist, but what if we do clean house next year and get a top coach, the people that give up all their seats will have most of their points wiped out. Have fun walking from the light blue or taking the bus from the RAC when we do get back on track.

I suspect most are bluffing, somehow believing their SN threats of abandonment will scare RU and the AD into making a change. But to deny your $ has the opposite impact per your desired outcome of moving the program forward. More $ are needed to make changes and progress. Not fewer $. So stay the course. In fact, give more, but let the leadership know your expectations.

Hey @RU in IM why aren't you playing the lottery every day? What if you end up winning and you missed your chance because you didn't buy a ticket? Then you're gonna regret it your whole life. Better start buying those tickets.

It really boggles my mind that some people STILL believe that after 4 years of watching this crap all of a sudden flood is going to be a great coach. Just get him coordinators that will help him coach the defense and offense and special teams and that will help him recruit so he can just sit there because he's such a NICE guy. What a load of horsehit. First of all he's probably one of the more manipulative coaches we've ever had here. Every decision he has ever made has been with the intent to save his own ass. He has been manipulative behind the scenes and threatening to sue Rutgers and cozying up to certain donors that have interest in mind. Reeks of a slimeball personality .Oh he was looking out for barnwell? BS he did it because he knew the secondary depth that he recruited was trash. Sure he's a guy that puts on a nice act oh look at all this charity I do and here is a PSA to show you that I don't like drunk driving and a lot of you suckers fall for it hook line and sinker.

This isn't even just a talent issue either. I mean it obviously is a talent issue because of how awful he has recruited but its not the only issue. Flood has proven that his in game coaching is absolutely horrendous. He makes mind boggling decisions and is awful at managing a depth chart. Heck he's proven that this year look at how we played vs Michigan state when he wasn't on the sidelines. How is that going to change in 2016? I promise you that if you put flood in charge of the 2016 crimson tide he would still find a way to get 4 + losses because he simply can not coach.

This is getting ridiculous with some of you. Like an abused gf that keeps going back to her pos bf. "Ya mom he does hit me but he's really sweet sometimes you just dont see that! And he can change just give him time!!”

Right so when a company...... say your cable company gives you awful service and just doesnt listen to your complaints you just keep giving them money so that they can make progress and changes.....stay the course...... just let them know your a expectations right?

So you think a once in 20 years QB recruit is actually going to be played as a true freshmen by a coach that refuses to see if anyone can do better than a starting QB who has averaged around 100 yards per game and 0 TDs?

Yeah... I'm thinking that's unlikely to happen.

Once in a 20 year QB?? Where in the world does RU get these clueless fans? Horrible Oline, worst coach in the league, losing Caroo, yet somehow we're going to turn it around? This is the same mentality that has condemned Rutgers athetics for generations. What if this, what is that.. instead of hiring competent people, creating a vision and fostering competition and excellence.

Get a grip. If you are this upset and hate the current state of things and Flood this much, find something that makes you happy.

Fan base folding it in but expects the teams and program to thrive no matter what the circumstances. Not even sure how many of you look in the mirror and believe yourselves when you say you're a fan.

We're in the B1G. A dream scenario for this fan base 5 years ago. And you want to prove a point by abandoning the team and support !? And then some people are rooting for us to lose , or for this report to be another black eye for the school ?

Band together and inflict change that way. By showing how weak our fan base is , instead further sets back the program overall.

I did find something that made me happy: Rutgers football. But then flood got a hold of it and turned into something that makes me upset ergo I now hate flood.

Bravo! One of the best posts I've read on this insane debate (insane that people are actually supporting the return of Flood).

Yep. Rutgers, accepting mediocrity for 250 years.

Nope sorry blind support is stupid. Blind support means that the people in charge will never be held accountable for their incompetence because no matter what they do you show up to support them as if they are your child or something. If the very real risk of losing support/money is presented then maybe they will get the message. If not then you reap what you sow.

I believe a ton of people won't renew. If Rutgers doesn't get out of the gate strong next year it's going to get real ugly. You haven't seen anything yet. The more fans that give up the uglier the experience will be for loyal fans as very low brow visiting fans will invade the stadium because of ticket availability making for a very unpleasant experience.

Nobody is blindly supporting anything. It's more like we've gouged our eyes out and are prepared to accept the next futile move by RU when it comes to athletics. If you are frustrated with football, take a look at mens' hoops. You will feel better about football.

Typical Rutgers train of thought. "We are just happy to be here, pay us our money". Yeah, it was a dream scenario to go into the B1G and BE COMPETITIVE, not get our faces kicked in every week like the Big East in the 1990's. May as well go into the MAC or drop down to 1-AA again as far as I'm concerned.

Already happened this year at the Ohio State game.

Basketball is easier to fix. All you need is the right coach to land two or three top tier players and you can compete right away. I like EJ the person and player but he's not this level of college coach. And there are plenty of guys out there (one of the Hurley brothers for example) who if we rolled the dice on could turn it around fairly quickly.

Where in my thread did I say I believe in Flood?

I hope all you people that say your not renewing have good seats and if you actually do get rid of your seats get stuck with suck
A$$ seats when you realize you made a mistake and look for new season tickets and I hope you all lose your PP's as well.

Won't be happening with Flood as head coach. And let's say on the off chance that he does go 6-6 next year and gets into a 4th rate bowl game, you know they will extend him again. Nevermind the money, not worth investing the time into this program anymore. It's becoming a joke.

[roll] newsflash this isn't the New York Giants. If by some miracle we finally get out of our own way and eventually field a competent team tickets will still be available. Until then enjoy sitting next to Ohio state fans because this is what the adminstration has done.

Why? It's supposed to be fun. Its not fun to go watch your team get destroyed against any team with a pulse.

Nobody has said this yet, but I believe RU has already lost the 2017 recruiting class. I understand that the NJ HS recruits already have a negative view of the program because of the blowout losses, and even if the team pleasantly surprises in 2016 (highly unlikely with Elmer remaining), it will be too late to save 2017, most of the area prospects will be heading out of state. Sure, there will be a few like Naijee Jones who just want to stay home, but I would be surprised if our recruiting class is higher than 75th in the country. Also, if Flood is back in 2016, he will clearly be on the hot seat (unless we extend him again, LOL), and that will be very detrimental to recruiting as well.

Good luck to those fans who renew. I'll be rooting for the team from my living room, and when the blowout begins I'll be able to turn the channel and find a better game to watch.

not necessarily. there is a lifetime giving metric which is part of priority points. so even if you lose points for years of consecutive seat buying/donating, you will still have priority points, even if you give up your seats, for lifetime giving. lifetime university giving gets divided by 1,000. people who give enough to be in priority lots probably won't be affected much, even if they give up their tickets.

off course, people who haven't given much will be most effected if they decide to drop their tickets. and if you have consecutive years of buying and donating, that gets weighted more too. so people could give up their seats, but still donate.

Doesn't matter if you like him or not. It's attitudes like yours that is allowing this pile of horse dung to continue. If Flood is retained RU is giving all of us the middle finger and flaunting the fact that Rutgers is nothing more than a football whore in the B1G.

What is wrong with my attitude? An attitude where I want to want to support a team that has had 8 solid seasons over the last 11 years. I've enjoyed a lot of RU football over the last 10+ years. Am I happy with the state of the program? Hell no! Am I walking away, hell no!

Most long-time ticket buyers know others with high priority point totals. When and if they decide to return to buying season tickets, they will join ticket groups that already have an established and high priority point total.

I have 5 tickets. Will drop to 1 to maintain priority points and drop 4 if flood is retained. Three of those are extras for friends and we couldn't get anyone to come to most. We can always get extras on game day for $5-$10.

Just keep one. Consider the pretty modest cost a donation to the program.

This is it. There isnt much reason to keep season tickets at this point unless you have really great seats or to keep PP going.

We dont have that deep of a fan base - maybe 20,000 really solid fans, and even alot of them will do the smart financial thing and buy tickets to the games they really want to see and skip the other ones, or buy them discounted.

No, FLOOD has already lost the 2017 NJ recruiting class. Bring in a semi-charismatic coach who doesn't stick with this "go one and oh", "best chance to win" bullship and these kids will stop laughing at him and start to believe.

The other day I was talking with a friend of mine who's a college football fan in general and doesn't really seem to have a favorite team. He simply enjoys the atmosphere and goes to games of quite a few college teams, e.g., Navy, Army, Maryland, RU, etc., and is very knowledgeable about the game.

Since he was about the most unbiased person I could think of to put this to, I asked him what his opinion of KF was? His response? "As a college head coach he's a complete simpleton".

Coming from a guy who doesn't have any strong allegiance to any particular team and who definitely knows his football, I thought that comment said a lot about Flood's general perception.
