Question for fans giving up tickets

Right so when a company...... say your cable company gives you awful service and just doesnt listen to your complaints you just keep giving them money so that they can make progress and changes.....stay the course...... just let them know your a expectations right?

Wow. Hardly the same. You are an RU alumnus? OK. You want better service from your "cable co"? They need to expand and improve their infrastructure and hire more and better trained staff, to provide you with a better product/service. That takes $. And where does that $ come from? You and other customers, and shareholders. As a consumer, you do have the option of taking your business elsewhere, in the cable scenario. In the RU FB scenario, a fan may similarly bolt for another team. An alumnus, though, not so much.

I suspect most are bluffing, somehow believing their SN threats of abandonment will scare RU and the AD into making a change. But to deny your $ has the opposite impact per your desired outcome of moving the program forward. More $ are needed to make changes and progress. Not fewer $. So stay the course. In fact, give more, but let the leadership know your expectations.

SN members may be bluffing, but it's the fans that picked up season tickets in the last 3-4 years that are going to leave in droves. They have no attachment built up and will not nearly as tough of a decision for them as it is for long time fans. A 5k drop off is season tickets will have a real economic impact and offset any savings from keeping Flood.

Fan base folding it in but expects the teams and program to thrive no matter what the circumstances. Not even sure how many of you look in the mirror and believe yourselves when you say you're a fan.

We're in the B1G. A dream scenario for this fan base 5 years ago. And you want to prove a point by abandoning the team and support !? And then some people are rooting for us to lose , or for this report to be another black eye for the school ?

Band together and inflict change that way. By showing how weak our fan base is , instead further sets back the program overall.

Like most here, i believe Flood needs to go, but Scarletkid is 100% accurate. College football programs are built on alumni and fan interest. Basically, in the long run, this team will only go as far as the fans can afford to take it. Add in a university that can't afford to lose more money and it's ugly. So until we get a fair share of B1G money and the fans step up, Rutgers football is going to struggle.

RU alumni need to step up, first and foremost. They ("we") are key to getting the ship seaworthy. The non-alum "fans" will more readily follow, once they have something to cheer about. We need more than just season ticket sales/donations to make that happen.

Laviano will still be the QB plus we are losing our best overall player and our only good lineman... That just screams success.

Yet you and others blame Flood this year for a worse record than last year despite losing so many more impact players from 14. To. 15. Pretty funny

Nobody has said this yet, but I believe RU has already lost the 2017 recruiting class. I understand that the NJ HS recruits already have a negative view of the program because of the blowout losses, and even if the team pleasantly surprises in 2016 (highly unlikely with Elmer remaining), it will be too late to save 2017, most of the area prospects will be heading out of state. Sure, there will be a few like Naijee Jones who just want to stay home, but I would be surprised if our recruiting class is higher than 75th in the country. Also, if Flood is back in 2016, he will clearly be on the hot seat (unless we extend him again, LOL), and that will be very detrimental to recruiting as well.

Good luck to those fans who renew. I'll be rooting for the team from my living room, and when the blowout begins I'll be able to turn the channel and find a better game to watch.

Oh you can forget about 2017. We'll be scouring the country for random recruits to join the program. I'd say a class in the 55 to 70 range is the likely outcome.

As for the 2016 class, decommits are on the horizon. Just wait until official visits start up again. It's going to be sad and entertaining when we are looking at 5 to 8 decommits in January and scrambling to beat out Uconn and MAC schools for plan C recruits.

No, FLOOD has already lost the 2017 NJ recruiting class. Bring in a semi-charismatic coach who doesn't stick with this "go one and oh", "best chance to win" bullship and these kids will stop laughing at him and start to believe.

Johnny, I wholeheartedly agree. That is what I meant in my post, I was the "Flood is retained" scenario, and should have been more specific. I do think that 2017 recruiting could have a lot of promise with the right hire.

Most long-time ticket buyers know others with high priority point totals. When and if they decide to return to buying season tickets, they will join ticket groups that already have an established and high priority point total.

What ?? Thi is a pipe dream. I have been trying to get extra tickets in my area for years, desiring them to be close to the current seats. Was able to get one seat two rows away a few years ago but no one is giving up seats in my section and I'm still looking for two more. Not sure where you imagine this will happen. People won't be giving up seats and if they did they will sure be losing their dibs on good locations they may currently have. And what good is keeping one seat as one poster said. If you want to get back in with multiple seats you will be able to find seats near the current one you have

so a 100 or so frustrated fans have"promised" to give up their seats and 135 sign a petition--if you think that number is impressing barchi enough to change any decision he has made you are wrong--if we continue to lose that is what is meaningful without extenuating circumstances--but hey we won a bowl last year and beat teams some on here now throw roses at-- in any event he and Julie probably just think we posters are a bunch of aholes anyway

Yes, because the replacements for those impact players are suiting up for Penn State, BC, Wake Forest, Indiana and I forget where the other 7 or 8 went.

I hope all you people that say your not renewing have good seats and if you actually do get rid of your seats get stuck with suck
A$$ seats when you realize you made a mistake and look for new season tickets and I hope you all lose your PP's as well.

You are a A## Clown.
After Fudd tanks the team even further in 2016, Rutgers will be begging people to buy Tickets on the lower sidelines for the 2017 season.

You forgot the other 5000 people that have lost so much interest that they don't bother to post or let anyone know they aren't coming back. Not everyone that is disgruntled issues a complaint. They just don't come back most times. That is what you will get from the casual fan that can't deal with more of this.

Been going to games fro 32 + years- I have been through worse- will still be ordering my tickets!

It's 100% on the coach to recruit well and reload, so that doesn't give him a pass. He can't have a good team every 4 years and then suck in between. That's not how it works.

Who are you kidding, you can't give tickets away.

"Yeah management is terrible, but keep paying to support the employees..."

Hey @RU in IM why aren't you playing the lottery every day? What if you end up winning and you missed your chance because you didn't buy a ticket? Then you're gonna regret it your whole life. Better start buying those tickets.

It really boggles my mind that some people STILL believe that after 4 years of watching this crap all of a sudden flood is going to be a great coach. Just get him coordinators that will help him coach the defense and offense and special teams and that will help him recruit so he can just sit there because he's such a NICE guy. What a load of horsehit. First of all he's probably one of the more manipulative coaches we've ever had here. Every decision he has ever made has been with the intent to save his own ass. He has been manipulative behind the scenes and threatening to sue Rutgers and cozying up to certain donors that have interest in mind. Reeks of a slimeball personality .Oh he was looking out for barnwell? BS he did it because he knew the secondary depth that he recruited was trash. Sure he's a guy that puts on a nice act oh look at all this charity I do and here is a PSA to show you that I don't like drunk driving and a lot of you suckers fall for it hook line and sinker.

This isn't even just a talent issue either. I mean it obviously is a talent issue because of how awful he has recruited but its not the only issue. Flood has proven that his in game coaching is absolutely horrendous. He makes mind boggling decisions and is awful at managing a depth chart. Heck he's proven that this year look at how we played vs Michigan state when he wasn't on the sidelines. How is that going to change in 2016? I promise you that if you put flood in charge of the 2016 crimson tide he would still find a way to get 4 + losses because he simply can not coach.

This is getting ridiculous with some of you. Like an abused gf that keeps going back to her pos bf. "Ya mom he does hit me but he's really sweet sometimes you just dont see that! And he can change just give him time!!”
