Some interesting questions posed here in threads:

Will UConn kids get poached-that is happening with Sanogo right now and he probably will pull a Dickinson, as next year is his best pay day.UConn though has plenty of NIL $$$.

Gavin vs Karaban- Different positions. Karaban is more physically mature right now and Gavin shoots it better. They will probably have equivalent impacts as frosh.

Danny vs Steve-Again,far different starting points and both were the right guys at the time. Its easier to compete for Nattys at UConn and that is no earth shattering revelation.

Why did UConn lose so many in January- they lost to Big East teams and the Big East was the toughest conference at the top. The only ridiculous loss was at home to St John's.Don't get why people knock the Big East. It will only improve with Pitino, but that poses zero risk to Rutgers.

Will Danny be Calhoun-of course not. Can't do that in modern day basketball. They will have highs and lows like most teams at the top.

Does this hurt Rutgers-in no universe. The 2 are not involved with many of the same players. UConn didn't recruit Gavin or Cliff hard and Rutgers barely recruited Sanogo.

Steve and Karl are rooting for UConn and Danny goes out of his way when asked to compliment the job Steve is doing right now at Rutgers.

What’s the rumblings from insiders on poaching….
Do they see it getting worse (how much worse)…about the same…or will there be a correction/counter acting force that slows some of it down?

UConn spends more on basketball than any other program except Duke. It looks like they are getting what they paid for.

Face it , the reality of the NCAA's being the tourney where there's some upsets but the best programs in the country shine, was lost this year. It's become a lottery.

No doubt that's PART of it. Just like luck is PART of it.
The idea that anything that can’t be rationalized objectively, equals luck, it’s a bit disingenuous.

It’s ok that things that aren’t able to rationalized can be considered variance.

Just a connotation thing.

Why is that disingenuous?
Is "luck" the wrong word for a positive variance that happens at the right time and lasts just long enough?
I think so. It blurs the context of rationalized performance.

It's become more of a lottery over the years. A lot of that has to do with seeding.

Matchups. Take Illinois from a few years back as an example. They lost to an underrated Loyola Chicago. Had they played most other teams there, they probably walk into the Elite 8.

Some of these upsets aren't really upsets.
