RAC Naming Rights--After This Week

After the run we just had, does this bring a somewhat larger naming rights price for the RAC ? Does it move up the date to seeing a deal finalized?
 
I hope it includes a paint job to the exterior of the building.

Paint job ??? We need to make it round with verticle risers like the garden lol. Also replace the block R center court with that swirly multi colored tourny busrt design,

Who knows if they’re even seeking a naming rights deal? You’re assuming it’s an active search.

The practice facility is complete by the summer of 2019...the completion of this new outside area in front of the RAC could be started and then completed for the first home game of the 2019-20 season.

I haven't seen it in the plans but it SHOULD be. If I were a billionaire I'd donate the money. Oh well...

I still can't believe the practice facility is costing over $100 million. The same facility built in Ohio or Michigan is half the cost. It's really absurd and doesn't make things easy.

However if I read correctly, the parking deck generates parking revenue which supports $26 mill in bonds. So Hobbs can spend $100 mill he raises plus $26. I’m guessing he is going to get the University to partially fund the academic support building which also houses lacrosse and soccer. At least I hope so or he will need to raise an additional $100 mill.

We don’t need it, we’re really close to full share of B1G money. If Hobbs really needs a couple mill I’m sure he can get it from a donor.

Enough with the renaming crap. Keep things unique.

If they plan on issuing bonds supported by the parking revenue, I call that funky budgeting. Unless they add events at the RAC, how will parking revenue increase from what is generated now? So effectively we will be taking money already in the budget and allocating it to this bond payment.
 
Forget naming rights until there are plans for the redesign to show the potential donors.
Let them bid for the naming rights to the entire facility and various other sections of the
project, such as "Class of 1976 Club" like you have "Audi Club" in football or "Phil Sellers Court"
like the "Jimmy V Court" at College Ave.

What does a full share matter? All but one other school in the conference has a full share. Schools that house, for example, the Kohl Center. And the State Farm Center. And the Pinnacle Bank Arena.

My point is that we can have 100 years of a full share and we will still be dwarfed in revenue by the university that houses the Value City Arena. Rutgers, and especially Rutgers Athletics needs all the revenue streams that it can get in order to at least try to keep up.

You are absolutely correct. The school subsidy's go away day 1 when we get a full share. At that point what is left is not much.

Listen to towers interview about donations. We need alumni to contribute, then we build great facilities that generate revenue streams, then we compete.

No. No it does not.

If we are receiving 70 million a year from the B1G and still consistently losing, I promise you it has nothing to do with the additional 2 mill you’re missing out on because of keeping the RAC.
