Re: Schiano - Many PSU players from NJ have told me..

Alabama is competing against teams like Ohio State, LSU, Auburn, Notre Dame, Georgia, Florida for every recruit. All those teams I mentioned are top teams and could "recruit itself." Cristobal did a great job getting guys to commit to Alabama over those other top schools. Position coaches are the main recruiters for a school and Saban makes sure he hires the best.

70% of their roster is from 'Bama and never wanted to go anywhere BUT 'Bama.
20% of their roster is from neighboring states and pretty much always wanted to go to 'Bama.

...is it NOT difficult to recruit when you're at Alabama AND you have Nick Saban as your "closer."

At Alabama, Cristobal is constantly competing against the big boys for the top recruits. There are only so many elite players in the country. Take a look at Alabama's commits and what schools offered them. He definitely has the recruiting chops. He is a charismatic leader and he has learned from the top head coach and staff in the country. He would be a great pick as head coach.
My point is that it's easier to recruit at those schools because most of the recruiting is already done for you when you have it your business card.

Yes this is what I was trying to say. Just because you can recruit at one of the power houses does not mean you're a good recruiter.

Recruiting at 'Bama is the equivalent of recruiting at Uconn for women's basketball.

Ummm, different sport but Craig Littlepage and Fred Hill Jr. were supposed to be super recruiters.... Now we all now how that turned out. Not sure what it means other than the label of being a good recruiter may or may not mean much.
