Rettig "not about me"

Hate to beat a dead horse, especially since Flood has corrupted the phrase. But Rettig sounds like a real Rutgers man. Seems to have a lot of character and focus.
Agree. Has a good head on his shoulders. It is ridiculous the stubbornness attitude of KF

Hahahaha I feel like HR could take a crap right now, and this board would proclaim it to be the greatest dump ever taken

RUwoz,

Noticed some of your comments, you seem to be a pro-Laviano guy. What is your thoughts on his abilities and strengths that will eventually lead to his leading a much more potent RU offense against any defense with a pulse?

Do you see any deficiencies that may lead to problems against good defenses? And who do you want to see as the RU QB of the future?

I don't agree with bashing Laviano, and he has performed with heart, but in order to at least be competitive with the top half of the B1G, you need to have a QB with the physical tools and arm strength to keep a defense honest.

Not a Laviano guy, just don't understand the love fest for Rettig either... If he gave us the best chance of winning then Flood would play him, he knows his job is on the line and so he wouldn't trot out the wrong QB unless he's trying to get fired.

that assumes that flood is intelligent. his actions with regard to sending an email and thinking because it was sent from his personal email address it would be "secret" say otherwise.

I think either Flood really has poor judgement regarding his QB's and/or he values a QB who he feels will limit mistakes, as he knows he is on the hot seat and doesn't feel he can take a chance on watching growing pains of a QB with a higher ceiling

Like someone said on BTN when given the choice between someone who knows the playbook and someone who has more talent but still is learning the playbook.. you ALWAYS go with the person with more talent. The other guy can stand by as the back up.

But, that is only if you have a HC with basic common sense...

I just HOPE that he gets a chance next year.

Or the other possibility- he doesn't see what is pretty obvious at the QB spot. He is very beholden to preconceived ideas. He just had to name a starter and let them play and can't deviate from this robotic position. If not for Laviano breaking team rules, we would likely have never seen Rettig.

Flood doesn't seem capable of moving away from his first option strategy, regardless of what is happening in front of him to warrant doing something else.

I expect he will get another opportunity in the 4th Q this Saturday when the score is 35-10 with RU on the short end..
