Pretty sure it's been mentioned that concerts at HPSS would be a good source of revenue.

Pretty sure when RU stadium was rebuilt and expanded, Piscataway Twp put a deed restriction when granting the approvals in prohibiting things like concerts at night, as it would be a nuisance for the locals.

The campus is State property and local codes don't apply. RU can voluntarily comply or make mutual agreements but Piscataway can't force RU to do anything.

I'm sure they could work out some kick back that would make all parties happy. They allow night games and those are loud and traffic is horrific. Always thought no concerts was a Schiano thing.

The restriction was part of the stadium funding agreement with the meadowlands. NJSEA (sports and exhibition authority) provided the fundingg - they did not want competing concert events with the venues in the Meadowlands complex.

A condition of the funding from the NJSEA bonds is not the Township of Piscataway. Again, the town can't tell the State what to do. No NJSEA money went into the RAC but we don't do concerts there because we don't want to.Not because the town won't let us.

Well the Bredan Byrne Arena/Continental Airlines Arena/Izod Arena is now closed. So with that reason gone, let's have a concert, and let Piscataway try to shut it down.
