Looks like he is worth a long look:

Neal, a 2015 Yorktown graduate, finishes his Cardinals career with 32 starts at quarterback, operating as the starter in every game he dressed for since the fourth game of his freshman season. His name is all over Ball State's record book. He is third all-time in passing yards with 7,393, as he passed up Neu earlier this season. Had he stayed at Ball State, he likely would have passed Nate Davis (9,233) and finished second all-time behind Keith Wenning (11,402). He also finishes with the third-most career touchdown passes with 46, behind Wenning and Davis.

Looks like he has some running ability too:

Listed at 6'6", 225 lbs, pro-style QB. No brainer, you go after him with everything you've got. If we were to get him, you might be able to redshirt Art next year under the new rules, which would help Art immensely, I think.
Looks like he would be ideal. Plays for us next year and Art can get in up to four games to work on his game.

Kid looks decent in this ONE series against Notre Dame. Think he threw two picks in that game.

why would any quarterback want to come here with our terrible O-LINE besides we have no wide receivers who can catch the ball, under the current circumstances this team under our coaching staff is a graveyard for qb's

You are your usual ball of sunshine today.
Thanks for bringing down another thread.

We are actually the perfect place for a graduate transfer who secretly knows they aren't going to the league. Ash may not last more than a year but a grad transfer doesn't care. Most places they go they are going to have to battle through several guys that waited their turn, not here. If he throws 10+ TD's, less than 10 interceptions and over 150 yards a game he will be a folk hero here, the bar is low. Plus Ash has nailed the nutrition, hydration and life after the game stuff so there is that.

Who needs lineman and wide receivers?

Looks better than AS, but I want Wimbush. I want someone with wheels...
Stick to weather forecasts in the snow globe. Did you look at his stats?

1363 yards on 325 carries, for 4.2 yards per carry.

Wimbush, who is not coming here, 1155 yards on 216 carries for 5.3 yards per carry.

Sheesh.

lol... "weather forecasts in the snow globe".

I don't care who ya are, that's funny, right there.

Yeah, because, you know, it out so well for Kyle Bolin ...

Totally irrelevant. Neal started for 4 seasons, 1219 passing attempts and nearly 7393 yards with 46 TDs and 25 INTS.
Bolin had 242 attempts, 2100 passing yards with 13 TDs and 10 INTs. He was very light on experience.

Some of you guys are funny. You want to whine and cry about how bad things are, and how bad our offense is. Kratch, Politi and Sarge were fairly adamant that RU would get a grad transfer QB in this season, and here is a decent looking prospect. But you guys just want to cast stones and look at past failures instead of looking to the future. Would not want to live in your shoes.

It’s called being realistic. Do you really think the RU program is attractive for a grad transfer QB?

Look, RU fans were very happy with Bolin because he had lost his job to a Heisman Trophy winner. Now, maybe with a decent OL ... and WRs who could gain separation ... Bolin would have had a big year at RU. So, if you’re Neal and you have other P5 options, would you rely on Rutgers having a decent OL and good enough WRs next year so that you can have a big year? I think those are two big unknowns given the returnees, redshirts and the track record of the OL and WR coaches.

Fair points, but still some differences.

Bolin was coming from a purported top flight program and mentored a Heisman Trophy winner. A little short on experience though, and many saw a red flag with his TD/INT ratio--but maybe he was an omen and our current QB will mentor a Heisman Trophy winner (always looking at the bright side!!!!).

Neal may have more or fewer options. We shall see. The OL and WR certainly would be a point of concern for any QB giving us a look. But that QB also has to look at his chances of starting here, which would be excellent for him.

Ash and McNulty would be wise to bring in a guy like this.

Go after him hard! Transfer to RU and you will be the starting QB from game 1. Pretty good pitch.

Guarantee? You just need him to watch any of our last 11 games. He will get the picture.
I'm going to repost what I posted above, cued up. This is against Notre Dame, a CFP team that beat Michigan:

Here is his "competition," one week later against Kansas. Kansas has something in common with Notre Dame. Charlie Weis coached there. But that is where the similarities end.

Because we play in a high profile conference and NFL scouts will have tape of him playing against elite defenses week after week. If he can come here at that size with that arm strength and ability to run and make our team competitive, hell maybe even win a couple conference games, He will have a real shot of getting drafted

Also a starting job could be available. The number of schools that have starting jobs realistically available is limited.

Some of you people are friggen hilarious. Actually thinking a QB, that has thrown for nearly 8,000 yards, would want to tranfer to Rutgers. Why? To practice throwing interceptions? Rutgers passing offense was 123rd out of 129. The schools behind RU? Georgia Tech, Air Force, Army, Navy.
Laughable to think any QB would want to come here. Especially after seeing what this staff did with Rescigno.

It's not a matter of coming here for the love of Rutgers, it's the idea that he can come here and raise his draft profile. Big 10 QB's have a real line of success in the league, if the kid can come here for a year, play well against elite defenses like he will face, then yes NFL scouts will take notice more than if he went to an ACC or Big 12 school (other than Oklahoma)

Get real. Who the hell is he going to throw to on this team? Raise his draft profile by losing a boat load of games? Does Rutgers fire McNulty and hire the OC from Ball State to bring in that offense?
You can't be that gullible to beleave a kid with his talent would come and put his future in the hands of Chris Ash, with the worst passing offense in the country.
All he needs to do is ask Gio about transferring in. How did that go?

bingo he can find a dozen plus schools to showcase his pro skills rather than a lousy team who has a ceiling of 4-8 next year..our fans never cease to amaze me
