Rim Defense

This has been a constant since Myles and the single most important reason for the turnaround in our progran

In my not so humble opinion
Agreed. Rim protector does seem to be a hole on the roster entering next season, which will be interesting. Still mad we didn’t manage to pull in Reuben Chinyelu (currently averaging 7/6 with 1.5 blocks in just 14 mins / night). Can’t say I’m too mad with where recruiting stands now though lol

Pretty neat that Rutgers is #1. Part of that is the fact that Cliff blocks a lot of shots, and the team does as a whole. I believe RU had 9 blocks last night. The unfortunate part is that St. Peters rebounded all 9 of them, if I'm not mistaken. The guards really need to do a better job of getting to those balls that are up for grabs on the floor.

Next year will have another big shot blocker with Ogbole healthy, Mag, Wolf, Ace, and Somerville.

Nothing like celebrating a good rim job

that sounds amazing… however our sos is like 317 right now. I would be very concerned if we couldn’t protect the rim vs that competition.
The strength of schedule # is pure bullshit. Princeton , Bryant and Howard and Georgetown are not terrible teams. Princeton is 6-0 and can play with most teams. Bryant after playing us tough went down to # 10 FAU and beat them. Fau proceeded to wipe out 3 teams to win the ESPN invitational last weekend and are ranked again. Howard who looked decent against us but ran into us playing our best game of the year resulting in our 27 point win , just went toe to toe the whole game with Cincinnati who is 6-0 and lost in OT 86-81 . Georgetown is 4-2.
Any computer that has that as the 317 stretch of schedule is just flawed and cannot be relied upon. Kenpom has Princeton at 52, Georgetown at 169 , Bryant at 212 and Howard at 216. This is much more indicative.
We now have at Wake Forest , at Seton Hall , neutral against Mississippi State who is ranked but lost tonight , to counteract LIU and Stonehill. No way in hell that is any worse than a 175-210 strength of schedule.

Mag completes this part of the equation and the team

Not only will the defense at the rim get better when mag returns , but the help defense for the swing opposite massively improves when he returns , as well as the DREB percentage …

He really finishes the equation for this team
In many ways when he returns

Really really reallyyyyy wanted Chinyelu. Unfortunate Ogbole got injured as such a raw player who is already older. Missed out on a lot of really valuable off season work with the team and the chance to get his feet wet in the early season OOC
