And OSU gets a QB commitment today...Well we know where this decision is heading.

I think you're right. JG is going to pick Tenn. RU may have a good shot at Haskins. That would make this day's outcome feel like a paper cut if true.

It is just weird that we have people here pretending that we have a chance...

Haskins is a 5 star and a better players by all accounts, but that one is a long shot as well.

You must be psychic. Congrats
Just common sense. The kid was down to RU nad OSU and then added Tennessee. Clearly he was looking for other options. He didnt then back it back down to RU and OSU, so its pretty clear that he found what he wanted.

The fact that he didnt commit back in early February when he was all pissed at OSU was all you needed to know about his intentions regarding RU. He was down to two schools and one of them really pissed him off and he still didnt pick the other one. Thats not the actions of a kid who really was conflicted between RU and OSU, its a kid whos conflicted about RU.

This is an excellent - and accurate - post.

However it doesn't contextualize well with your previous posts assigning blame to Flood for Guarantano not coming here.

You're more right here than there - Jarrett Guarantano does not want to spend his college career in New Brunswick. Period. We got some "love" (his word) because of his dad, but at the end of the day no force on earth was going to get him here.

Looking at the 247 prediction, we aren't even in the game for Haskins. Maryland is 54% the favorite, 38% Ohio State and even Penn State has 2%.

All of that is true plus he has been a lock to Tenn pretty much as soon as they offered according to experts that know way more about this than me. Some have gone as far as him giving Tenn a silent commit when he last visited there.

This was already well talked about right at this message board and many other sites. No psychic powers, unless reading and common sense is now considered a psychic power

Well they are wrong. First off, OSU has their QB and Haskins wasn't really considering them bc that's not his Type of O.

We had this conversation a few days ago. 247's "predictions" are based on nothing and have no value.

We had an exponentially better shot at JG than we do for Haskins for obvious reasons (NJ kid, Dad was RU legend, etc.). It's back to the recruiting drawing board after 3 pm today.

I for one have predicted he wasn't come here since day 1. I've said the Vol's for the last 2 weeks. I called you a psychic because he hasn't yet officially announced. I wouldn't take this commitment today serious no matter where he pledged.

For somebody who says so much, you really don't know a whole lot.

And you should absolutely change your screen name back to what it was originally. It better suits your inherent dickishness.

Honestly I think we have just as many ties to Haskins as we did with JG. But Haskins is a better player and is being recruited hard by more schools than JG was, so I think that's why Haskins is a longer shot.

Back to the drawing board for whom? The staff is working hard to recruit Haskins. We only had an exponentially better shot at JG according to a few posters.

It seems this kid had RU as a back up. The fact that RU is in MD at Haskins' school also speaks volumes of where JG may be headed.

I would agree with you on that one, sorry for any misunderstanding.

FYI, Haskins is originally from NJ, he just moved to MD. At least that is what I read. Correct me if I am wrong.

Haskins is a Jersey kid AND there's the Sanu / Jabbie factor. It's not like Haskins would be an impossible get compared to JG.

Haskins is still going to visit a handful of schools out west. It will be a much bigger battle for hm than JG, who had us in the top 3 (top 2 at one point).

I'm not disagreeing with Haskins being a tough get. Everybody wants him. He's better than JG from what I've seen and read (although I think both will be really good).

I'm just saying that too many people were putting their hopes on the fact that his dad went here; Haskins has relatives here too, so in that case it's not much different between the two.

I would never push my kid to go to Rutgers just because I went there. Of course I'd raise them going to games and whatnot, make sure they grew up wearing the gear and visiting campus, etc., but their choice would be their choice (esp. if they were on a full scholarship, haha).

We never more than a safety school for JG.

True, but up until December, we were not in consideration with JG.

The Haskins family are originally from Highland Park. Being from Highland Park as well, I knew the family. Wonderful family. Not sure if they are still there. I haven't lived there for quite a number of years. I hope Haskins commits to RU. We'll soon see.
