Local schools all out in force for HS recruiting at Investors Bank Classic at Kean tonight.....RU's ace assistant coaches Brandin Knight and Jay Young among others front and center watching Hudson Catholic vs St. Mary's early and the feature of Patrick School by 15 over Roselle Catholic and Naz Reid....

SHU assistants Shaheen Holloway and FHJ were there among others...I can't link a picture from Jay Gomes and NJHoops website, but shows the representation of schools, specifically RU not getting outworked by anyone.

Stats likely available later tonight....

Was at the game. Lots of talent on the floor. Patrick School will probably end of winning states..they were just impressive in every way possible

As far as Naz Reid goes..I know that he's still a junior and has a world of potential but was a non factor yesterday. Had about 10 points or so (a very quiet 10 at that) and showed very little hustle and enthusiasm

Good coaching will do him a lot of good. Scary to think he has another year left of highschool though..he's big kid with a ton of potential

Kahlil Whitney, son of former Seton Hall player Kelly Whitney, is only a Sophomore on RC and he looks good. He's already 6'5 and has a good feel for the game. I see RU has made an offer to him already..hope they work hard to bring him in

At the RAC for the RU Nebraska game but I agree TruJerz....The upside of Reid is up there but motor or intensity has been a quiet knock on Reid....

Was there any 3 point shooters in the games you were watching that Rutgers is recruiting?

RC almost lost to Rumson. I have never seen reid in person. But I have never seen him dominate any game I have watched on youtube.

Should we expect Seton Hall to add Whitney's Dad to their staff?

I've seen Reid several times. He has a lot of potential. I think Jay Young and Pikiell and our entire staff would do wonders for him. He can be really outstanding.

Whitney was living and in Chicago for HS within the last year or two and arrived here in NJ....whether that's by choice or by design is certainly up for debate.

Unfortunately, Naz Reid has a lot of burden on his shoulders. He has told many people he is playing this game to get his family out of unfortunate situations. This usually results in player whose motor will go up and down. I am sure Pikiell and Co will keep on eye on him.

Like you mentioned, its about potential. You want to see consistency, as well.

I hope the best for him and his family through these trying times.

Then Rutgers is best for him. He could get buried on the bench at a traditional power and eventually lose all enthusiasm for basketball.
