RU Lacrosse now #9 in NCAA rankings

When you look at how Cuse kept in the top ten so long you really see the old-boy network. With a record of 7-5, you have to wonder how they are even in the top 20.
They clearly had some luck along with skill in beating Army, Virginia and Duke by one goal each. They also had some thumpings by Albany (3-15), Johns Hopkins (7-18) and Cornell (8-13) along with other top losses to Navy, and us. They did beat ND (10-6) but they could also be another team ranked more by rep than ability.

Meanwhile, we had three tough one goal losses to John Hopkins and Maryland plus that overtime loss to Princeton which hurt us.

A very mediocre Marquette outplayed ND but lost it in very end. Still think it will only be Duke and Virginia in NCAA. There appears to be a grudging acceptance that ACC is not as good as it once was, maybe next year but not this year.

OSU just beat number 1. I get that ranking.

ND, no. And Denver at 4 is a joke.

Denver is the non-member of the boys club that everybody loves, because they legitimized the sport out west, bottom line and it sucks.

If RU went to 4 of the last 5 Final Fours, including a National Championship and finished first in our conference 8 of the last 9 years we would also get the benefit of the doubt. Make no mistake, Denver was not invited to the old boy's club, they kicked the doors in, first by going all in on lax and building state of the art facilities and hiring a legendary coach; then by scheduling -- and beating -- all comers. Their wins may not look that impressive this year but only because their OOC opponents all happen to be having relatively down years. But a 10-2 record with a schedule that includes Duke, UNC, ND, OSU, Villanova & Towson would be pretty impressive in most years.

I never said they didn’t esrn it....

Denver's faceoff guy is scary good- best in country at over 90 percent. PSU came roaring back after winning all them in second half....when we make tournament and if we happen to go against them whoever lines up against him needs to swallow pride and just push it out for jump ball- if it stays anywhere near him he will get it.
