I had a LOT of fun tonight, even in defeat.....it was a really fun crowd and SHU is better today than RU, BUT, the game would not have been an "event", if not for the 2K to 2500 RU fans that filled the building.....and the NJ high level basketball recruits noticed...

Folks, we are not that far away, if we can get decent crowds at the RAC and get the students back involved even more like tonight, we can make tonight's game into the old RAC. It was really good to see and don't be fooled, this game suddenly matters again to SHU...they had to have been a little surprised to see the RU turnout....I'm sure next years game at the RAC will be a total sellout.

RU turned a corner tonight, I saw people I hadn't seen at a game in years....football tailgating people....even saw DJ Foreman at the game a couple rows behind me....

Pikiell, Brandin Knight, Jay Young, Karl Hobbs all have their grind on with recruiting.....fans that turned out, made a big difference tonight.

Almost positive i saw your pumping up the RU section and starting an RU chant haha. Good stuff. Game was a blast tonight, good showing by RU fans, unfortunate ending but things are definitely headed in the right direction with Pikiell

I wasn't at the game, but the guys I watched it with all thought that was the best-coached RU team they'd seen in a long, long time. I think we've got ourselves a coach.

That was my rowdy self at certain games...got a few texts from other parts of that section behind me at met some people on concourse at halftime.....my son thinks I'm bananas, but that's OK....

Kyk....folks like you, myself and others here can rally our fan base that maybe are still on the fence....I'm completely sold on Pikiell and this staff. Last night was just part of that process but recruits had to notice the Red in the crowd....

So now ill admit i was the guy going absolutely bizzurk sitting behind out bench, i was livid at some of the calls haha. And the final possession of the 1st half i stood up and turned around and got everyone to get up and get loud. Youre right, all it takes is a few fans to get everyone into the game. This will be a fun year

The future of Rutgers mens basketball rests with turning interest to actual commitments from top tier 2018 recruits. The competition in the B1G and against teams like Miami and Seton Hall clearly will show higher level talent is required.Coach Pikiell understands what is needed and has the coaching staff to attract the recruits. In the end, however, recruits have choices and the elite teams always seem to come to NJ and cherry pick the best players.Keeping the best NJ recruits home has been the mantra for decades and hasn't worked for Rutgers .

Grey shirt about 5-10 rows behind RU bench? You were really on the refs! Great job!

The RU fans were much louder than the SHU fans. We had at least 25% of the crowd and things I believe will only get better. Next year at the RAC should be some experience. I hope many fans will be at the RAC on New Year's Day for Penn State. Many of their fans might be at the Rose Bowl. We need to win an early home BIG game to keep momentum going but first we need to think about Wisconsin.

on tv they said it was a sell out. Did they have the entire arean open are ust certain lower sections while closing upper sections?

It's been discussed here dozens of times already.
SHU's capacity for their home games is the lower level, the suites and the goal bar seating (where the Riot Squad were last night).
So it's around 10,500 give or take how many suites are purchased.

The lower level sold out on Monday or Tuesday.

They will only open the upper levels if the lower bowl is sold out at least a month before the game.
Ex: Their Villanova game in February, where they are selling tickets in the 100/mid level right now and possibly the 200 level when it's all said and done.

In 2018 I expect RU fans to gobble up tickets quickly in the lower level which will force SHU to open up the upper levels.

I bet there would have been slot more RU fans if not for the sellout I tried to scalp but they were asking ridiculous amount for tickets

Rutgers fans are itching for good basketball and we're finally getting it. I had more fun last night than I've had in a long time.

That's awesome, I definitely saw you on TV!

Yeah really had a blast. My nine year old kept telling me to stop yelling because all the guys around us were glaring lol. Actually the Hall fans around me seemed like good guys except for one in folding chair seats in front of me section 20. He kept turning and yapping , was pretty pissed lol.

Need people to yell, at the RAC need more people to get excited.

Going back to the 70's, RU and St Johns were the top two teams in the area. Those games were great and sell outs. Having top teams at both RU and SHU would be fantastic for NJ basketball making this game a top event.

I was there. The last row in Section 6 but I stood up all game in back aisle . I was very vocal, participated in all the R-U chants and "let's go Rutgers" chants.

If we get the RAC packed it will be an atmosphere that recruits want to play in and we can literally become national contenders. If the RAC goes back to being the RAC it will be YUGE. Fans truly make a difference

I saw on TV and it sounded great. Heard the RU chant and everything. Tons of red.

It goes to show, win and they will come.

- great showing and loud on tv; pissed I couldn't make it!

- don't get me started on the officiating in the 2nd half. Pretty sure it was the same guy calling pinky-touch falls on their end the entire half.

- Seton Hall has THE most unattractive cheer team in the nation. Dance team not far behind. Having all the girls wear Fire-Engine Red lipstick with blue-and-black dance gear? Yes, I noticed, they looked like, well, ya' know.

Rutgers fans were amazing last night. The recruits that were there got a glimpse of the future of Rutgers hoops.

Sat on the floor right behind the dance team. Let's just say most of them have big back yards
