Lost in all the Flood stuff is the women take on #1 Ranked Virginia in the NCAA Elite 8 today at 2pm. The winner moves onto the Final 4 in NC next weekend. Hopefully the NCAA's top defense can pull what would be considered an upset.

Other games this weekend are PSU-WVU, FSU-Texas A&M, and Duke-Stanford.

Been gearing up to watch it for a couple of days now. Considered making the trip to watch it, but 500 miles each way, along with RU-Maryland tomorrow, and I'll be watching it on my laptop.

Then at 3:30 today is the Nebby-Iowa game, and I'll be watching that when the soccer is over.

I'm pumped and this would be a huge win for RU and the B1G.

Would love to see us playing Penn St in the national semi finals (not sure if that's how it would fall) but I love the chance for us to get to beat PSU in anything. Especially when the stakes are even bigger

Virginia has knocked us out of the tourney at least twice, and maybe three times. Their offense is tremendous, and is pitted against our incredible defense. This would be an awesome win for our program since we'd make the Final 4 and will have knocked off a #1 team for the first time ever.

Not sure but believe the winner would face Duke-Stanford winner.

Yeah Duke/Stanford is matched against winner of Rutgers/Virginia.

UVA has dominated the 2nd half, but our defense has repelled the attacks so far - not sure how long they can keep them from scoring though. Need some possession and offense.

Yep. RU is playing as if they are afraid to get numbers up into the attack. Which maybe they are, I don't know because I'm unfamiliar with either team.

I said either here or the other board, a few days ago, that I felt the key in these road postseason tournament games is not letting the home team, especially as they're typically the better team, score early. RU men and women examples of late of course. Obviously we've done more than that.

Given how good Murphy is in goal, I'm sure RU would take a PK shootout - doesn't make for very exciting play, but it is a strategy.
