Rule changes approved for 2023

Goals where the player gets pushed into the crease will not be wiped out because of the penalty. Rules about contact to the head and neck are tightened. Too much in my mind for indirect contact.

Yeah I agree, I think 30 seconds for indirect and most refs will probably not call it at a full minute.

It was NEVER called until 5-6 years ago.

I suspect indirect contact will rarely be called and refs will use the one minute call for direct contact, 2 minutes for excessive and three for something egregious.

• Players who make indirect contact to an opponent's head or neck will receive a one-minute penalty.
• Players who make direct contact to an opponent's head or neck will receive a two-minute penalty.
• Players who make excessive contact to an opponent's head or neck will receive a three-minute penalty.
