Rutgers Athletics Launches R Edge NIL Marketplace

Rutgers launches official NIL marketplace for student-athletes

It’s a good thing for the athletes. It’s a good thing for the school. Looking forward to businesses sponsoring ads featuring our athletes.

It should start with Jersey Mike's and SHI....if they want to get behind their naming investments (arena and stadium) what's it hurt to use a player in advertising (whether print, video, etc.) vs. a no name person that an agency recommends. Assuming it generates some interest it helps them, it helps by other companies seeing it being done that maybe they would opt to hire someone via NIL. That then opens the door where new recruits see the potential to get NIL while at RU...improves team...improves investment in naming of arena / stadium. The circle of life.

So what are we up to now? 4 different NIL things.

Why not just have everything be under one umbrella so it’s easy to direct willing participants to the right spot.

Same reason our RFund raising is fragmented and complicated. We very year it's tweaked and just gets more confusing.

Trying to squeeze out and find every crumb from the seats.

And why not have Jersey Mike's just name subs after the players? Subway seems to be in the NIL for the stars.

"I'll take the Big Stuff Cliff's Way with the Paul Mulcahey (sp) assist." ( Soda and chips).

Because everyone wants to be the Big Umbrella owner. Just take a percentage of every deal cut under the little umbrellas, and hit the golf course. Great work if you can get it.
