PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Nov. 19, 2019)
– Rutgers baseball and head coach Steve Owens announce the signing of four student-athletes in the latest recruiting class. Ryan Lasko (Jackson, N.J.), Cameron Love (Staten Island, N.Y.), Alejandro Morales (Miami, Fla.) and Justin Sinibaldi (Bridgewater, N.J.) have all inked National Letters of Intent and will join the Scarlet Knights next fall.

“We are very excited about the addition of these four players in the 2020 recruiting class,” Owens said. “Each athlete has a high level of skill and athleticism and has excelled at the high school level. We are confident that they will make big contributions on the field for us as they continue to develop.”

Notes: Set for fourth season of varsity baseball at Jackson Memorial … named Second Team All Shore in 2019 … helped team become 2018 South Jersey Group IV state champions … played travel baseball for Baseball U … son of Patricia and James Lasko … has two older siblings: Dan and Emily … sister plays lacrosse at Caldwell … cousin, Jayson DeMild, plays quarterback for American International College … intends to major in criminal justice.

Owens on Lasko: “Ryan is a gifted outfielder with a complete skill set. He hits for average and power, runs very well, defends at a high level and plays the game hard. He has a chance to do some special things going forward with his physical ability and his tough aggressive style of play.”

Notes: Played for Monsignor Farrell before transferring to St. Peter’s as a junior … hit .390 on 39 hits with two homers and 14 stolen bases as a sophomore on varsity … batted .371 on 32 hits with 18 stolen bases on junior varsity as a freshman … a two-time Gold Glove winner … named Staten Island Advance First Team All-Star … won the Varsity Offensive Player Award … played travel baseball for the Staten Island Orioles … earned academic honors following each year in high school … son of Carolann and Stephen Love … has three siblings: Alexa, Monica and Casey.

Owens on Love: “Cam is a very good defender with plus glove skills and range with an accurate throwing arm. His baseball instincts and IQ are very high. A good hitter with a solid approach, Cam excels at stealing bases and getting extra bags with his baserunning skills.”

Notes: Plays for Belen Jesuit Prep … won four games and earned four saves on the mound as a junior … worked to a 1.58 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP with 36 strikeouts in 31 innings … named first team all-district … played travel baseball for Elite Squad 17U Prospects and won 2019 17U BCS National Championship … took a spot on the all-tournament team … earned Academic Achievement Award ninth through 12th grades … son of Marlen and Alexander Morales … father pitched at Upper Iowa University … has a younger sister, Alexia.

Owens on Morales: “Alejandro is a very polished left-handed pitcher from Miami who has faced very good competition and succeeded. He has a clean and fluid delivery and has a three-pitch arsenal to attack hitters multiple times through the lineup. He had a great junior season and we expect him to have a great senior season in preparation of joining us in the fall.”

Justin Sinibaldi

Notes: Set for fourth season of varsity baseball at Bridgewater-Raritan … named Second Team All-Skyland Conference … played travel baseball for Go Yard and Zoned Sports Academy … a member of the honor roll … son of Paula and Salvatore Sinibaldi … has an older sister, Gabrielle … intends to major in business management.

Owens on Sinibaldi: “A tall lanky left-handed pitcher who has recently made a huge jump in both velocity and quality of pitches. He has a very nice delivery and we are excited that he can develop into a power-type starting pitcher with his size and athletic actions. There is huge potential here for Justin to become a difference maker for us.”
