It looks as though Jon Young, the closer named to the NCBWA Watch List for Stopper of the Year will be pitching with a heavy heart as he has lost his mother to cancer. But it looks as though he is starting a foundation in conjunction with the Jimmy V Fund.

The website is http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/RutgersBaseball/Izabella

He is looking for corporate donors to join and help him reach his $30,000 goal. Let's help him find them if we can!

Also, he is letting people join individually and donate however much they feel comfortable based on how many scoreless innings he pitches this year. I personally will donate $10 per scoreless inning.

Heartbreaking -- BaseballFan, was Jon Young's mother the lady with the European accent that sometimes watched from behind the backstop?

Yes she was from Poland, I believe. Sad since he lost his father only a few years ago. Butn uplifting that he is starting this fund.
