Football Rutgers Football set to face off against Kansas State in the 2024 Rate Bowl

Ah, what could have been. Not thrilled with K State, but might be most winnable scenario given injuries, etc. let’s go

Should we be worried that K State beat a #20 Arizona 31-7 and #20 Oklahoma State 42-20?

Some around here are impressed with teams beating ranked opponents.

Oklahoma State finished the season 3-9/0-9 in conference.
Arizona finished the season second to last, 4-8/2-7 in conference.

The Ron Prince bowl !!
Forgot all the problems he had when he left Kansas, and Flood hired him as OC. Prince will get us minced!!!

On November 5, 2008, Prince was fired from his position as head coach.[10] He received a $1.2 million buyout and an additional $150,000 of a $250,000 longevity bonus.[11]

Kansas State buyout

On May 20, 2009, Kansas State University and its athletic corporation filed suit to have an allegedly secret agreement between Prince and former athletic director Bob Krause from 2008 declared invalid. The agreement required Kansas State to pay a total of $3.2 million in three deferred payments to a corporation called In Pursuit of Perfection, LLC, if the school terminated Prince before December 31, 2008. The payments were scheduled to be made in 2015, 2016, and 2020.

After spending the 2010 through 2012 seasons coaching in the NFL, Prince was hired as offensive coordinator of the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on February 19, 2013,[18] and spent one season in that role. Prince spent the 2018 season as an offensive analyst for the Michigan Wolverines.

And it did not end well for him at Howard University.

In December 2018, Prince was hired as the head coach for the Howard Bison.[19] In early November 2019, Prince was placed on administrative leave by the university, "after allegations of verbal abuse and intimidation of players."[20] The team was 1–8 at the time that Prince was placed on leave. On December 6, 2019, he resigned his position.[21]

Then go somewhere else. All kidding aside, they had some solid results this year. This is definitely not the KSU team we saw back in 2006.
Took a look at their results, and IMO, not all that solid.

They beat Colorado, 31-28, which was their signature win. Lost 38-9 to BYU, Arizona State, and Iowa State. All the other P5 teams they played did not have winning records. Not looking down at them, just not impressed either. Should be a good game, and will depend on who opts out.

You omitted several of their wins too. I still think this is a better version of the KSU we played many years ago.

Colorado wishes they could have that game back. Up 4 with less than a minute to go in the game, and CU goes into prevent mode. KSU marched down the field 85 yards while Colorado's defense began celebrating too early. The first play for KSU was an incomplete pass. The second play was a 35-yard pass to midfield. Then comes a 50-yard completion for the go-ahead score.

Please stop copying and pasting visual junk. You implied in your initial post that they were blown out in all of their losses which is not true. All I said was that this is a better version of KSU than we faced in 2006 and I stand by that.

Like the mutual fund prospectuses say: Past results do not guarantee future performance. Same applies for bowl games. Not putting K State down, but if Rutgers played their schedule, there would be group of boo birds saying "we did not beat anybody" except Colorado. Tulane is a nice win, but they got really exposed against Army after playing nobody all year. I don't need these posts to be fed back to me should K State clobber Rutgers. Nobody has any idea on how the game will play out , particularly when you consider opt outs and injuries. Should be a good game.

Jeez dude, calm down. Touch a nerve or something? Try to give you some context, and you fly off the handle? I NEVER implied they were blown out in all their losses. I have the BYU score, and then you yell at me for posting all their scores. Have a nice night!

Re-read my post. It was calm and measured. Unfortunately, you are the one who flips out on other posters here. I didn’t yell at anyone and I am fine with what I posted. Can you say the same?
