That was nice to hear . But does it help recruiting ?
Wish it was during a closer game. Many have probably turned it off or tuned it out by now.

Soooo happy Big Ben won't be playing
Should hear lots of RU talk leading up to and during the Super Bowl
Prime time game. Announcers mention Rutgers in a positive light about 15 times in 3 mins
Nope...no positvie impact on recruiting at all
Smh...
I agree . Rothlisberger is scum .
So some kid is gonna flip to us because our coach 5 years ago could get guys to the NFL?
Sanu vs NE secondary - hard to know who to root for lol
Nothing to do with that. Only the hardcore fans are paying much attention to this one at this point. And you know most teens have long ago turned to social media. There's that RU fan glass half full optimism...
Look I know you like to come on here and stir the pot. But do you really need someone to explain to you how Rutgers being mentioned in a positive manner helps recruiting?
It obviously doesn't hurt . It's certainly nice to hear the good publicity. But I am not convinced it really helps us.
Talk is cheap. Great hindsight by Simms. Actions speak louder than words. His kids didn't even talk about repping NJ. Rutgers did not exist for them.It was awesome, and, believe or not, one of the announcers really talking up RU was Phil Simms. Among the comments is that Logan Ryan has grown into one of the best young CBs in the game.

Purdue QB's? Drew Brees and then who? Bob Griese in the 60's? Maybe Lenny Dawson. Am I forgetting somebody?Schools get a reputation at certain positions that transfer past the coach that coached them. LSU DB's, Penn State LB's, Purdue at QB, Wisconsin OL/RB, MSU LB's, Michigan OL, etc. When you have players in the Super Bowl in definitely helps.
Yes for Chris.Pretty sure Shea was the coach. I wouldn't let my kid go to Rutgers under Shea either. Place was dead then doing nothing right. Or even close to it.

Okay I gotcha. I guess I was thinking more about impact guys. That is a lot of guys that spent some time in the league though.Curtis Painter, Kyle Orton, Mark Hermann, Jim Everett, Gary Danielson, Scott Campbell, Bob DeMoss, maybe not as much recently since Painter in 2009, but Purdue has produced a good amount of NFL QB's compared to their results on the field. But if you look over the period from Griese to Painter, that is a long time of producing QB's.
Great publicity for RU, except for that "their alma mater had 6 interceptions for the entire 2016 season" part.

Yes its good
Shows nfl from ru a real thing. All the other talk is nonsense. Should do recruiting wonders.
Schiano was during Matt Simms. It was Schiano.
