Rutgers in on Big Man Baye Fall--5 Star 2023 Player

Another complaining Bandwagon fan who just recently jumped in when the team got good.
Is it bad to have bandwagon fans?
I’m guessing they’re ok if they don’t complain.
It’s pretty easy to figure out how a non-alumnus, no real affiliation to the university, college basketball fan could be attracted to tournament level Rutgers teams playing in their backyard, and lose interest quickly if they struggle.
I’ve learned true bandwagon fans lack passion for any one particular team, they drift from one local winner to the next depending on what team entertains them…they become experts in that team as long as they’re good and have next to no interest as soon as they begin to struggle.
I just described my brother, I think he was born that way.

I agree mostly. But is this really new? Seems to me that’s the way it’s always been. The question is, now that it’s legal, when is RU going to respond?
It has to be a bit different now
The dollars have escalated and money offers are more numerous
And maybe some programs did not do it all all for fear of sanctions later on

And since you don't have to hide it, more outrageous , cars, trucks etc

Actually Pike was the one that made that statement. He is on the record saying he wants under the radar guys with a chip on their shoulder.
I am sure he meant that he will go for that type IF he cannot land the top 100 player
Pike is not stupid
Cliff was a top rated player he did not pass up for a hungry three star
We have a top,100 player coming in next year

GS would have never been able to assemble and keep our 2006 team if that was the way it’s always been
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I assume RU was doing none of this prior to NIL. And while we won't be able to keep up with the OSU's of the world, we are going from nothing to something in terms of player compensation. So in terms of how far behind or ahead we are, does anyone really know the relative impact f NIL? OSU went from a lot, to even more. And we went from nothing to something.

My understanding is that if NIL wasn't a thing, SHU would be in great shape. It is though, so 99% Arkansas.

They want to play together. Assume both headed to Arkansas
I won't be surprised.. Cousins who've been joined at the hip everywhere they've gone so far... But of the 2 schools that are on both of their finalist lists, I'd rather they choose Arkansas than Seton Hall...
So much for the idea of them wanting to stick together... A little surprised that Diop chose Colorado with Fall choosing Arkansas... The Denver area is their most recent home in the USA and the home of their "handler" who they live with though.

Fall going to Arkansas was a done deal (due to $$$$) for a long time. Not sure why anyone here thought anyone else had a chance.

Why do so many people seem to think large amounts of money change hands in these situations without anyone knowing about it? Does the IRS look the other way because they love NCAA sports? or are boosters the best money launderers in the world?

As a school you would rather not announce it. Current and future players may be getting less and have an issue with what they are getting paid.

Yes.
