Generally speaking, I like anything coming out of JMU — solid program who seems to turn everything into gold.

Only 3 years as a defensive analyst? Was he not even a full-time position coach?
Don’t hate him as linebackers coach but don’t understand the coordinator role. Goes against most of things Schiano said he was looking for in the role. No playcalling experience, no recruiting experience and only one year of true assistant coaching experience and not coming at a power conference level. Not sure why this takes 2+months.
Sounds like Schiano screwed the pooch here by not just offering Hemphill once Hetherman was a no go. This kid has 1 yr. of experience as LB coach, WTF. The kid better have some recruiting chops or it's a waste of money.
Im thinking Greg whiffed on the real target I mentioned 2 months ago Lyle Hemphill. And went down the coaching tree until he found someone to say yes.

Well, a LB coach is needed. I think the key question will be who is the other Co-Def Coordinator?
Maybe people are not dying to work for GS without getting a huge payday or significant promotion. I doubt this was Plan A or B.
Sometimes it takes a while for the administrative and paperwork changes yo kick in ?
Here cum the usual suspects licking their chops to criticize any coach in their view. Try trusting a coach first -- especially one like Schiano.

Duke got rid of Patke? Diaz and Patke have been together a really long time. Heard JMU was contemplating making him the coordinator not Duke. Dukes (JMU mascot) not Duke university?

The Buckeyes under Urban Meyer used to have co-DCs and that what might be why Greg is doing it now.
I would imaging, under Schiano, one would have most the clout while the other is a helper with the title
