Per Zags: Junior 6'2" G Four (that's his first name) McGlynn of Towson - who averaged 12 PPG - transferred to URI over Purdue; PSU; Rutgers; GW and Duquense.

Presumption is that he would have to sit out during 15/16 season.......

He is eligible immediately.

well, with Hurley signing an extension and being in a league where it will be easier to win and make the tourney it makes sense.

At RU and PSU he would be in a tough league where the team is unlikely to make the NCAAs. Plus there may be coaching uncertainty if the teams continue to lose.

The kid only shot I believe 38% on all field goal attempts. I think it is best he went to RI. He probably could have been a shooter off the bench but it is a big step up from Towson to the BIG for one year. I think we are better off trying to get a few of the guys we are pursuing.

meanwhile, RU wouldn't win the league in the MEAC with its current roster. Shouldn't turn your noses up on ANY recruit when EJ can't get anyone to stay or WANT to come to play for him or RU.

Correct...as he is finishing up his undergrad degree this semester and still has 1 year of eligibility left.

So I guess four plays the two? Sorry...

Hey, Hype, I thought you left the last time with your tail between your legs. You forget, you aren't relevant any more. Nobody is interested in your self-serving piling on negativity. We have more than enough on this board.

Was that the best you could come up with? Try harder next time.

I am another poster who always appreciate Hype's analysis. Maybe that is because I frequently agree with his views. Regardless, that is what a message board is about - sharing of views.

We can choose to see the world as it is or as we would like it to be.

Regardless... theses types always return. It was only a matter of time.

Yea, Hype, you add so much (not). If we want more negativity all we have to do is read Bac, or RUman, or Fig, or On the Banks, etc. You guys do nothing but hijack almost every thread with your same tired narrative. If this program is so painful to you whiners then all of you should grow a pair and knock on Eddie's door and confront him on how you feel about the way he runs the program. Go ahead, tell him you have had enough. Tell him what YOU would do to improve the program. I'm sure he will be receptive and thank you for your time. Of course, it's pretty obvious it won't happen. You people enjoy being miserable.

Re: Th3Hype: Glad You're Back

"You people enjoy being miserable" has to take the cake for one of the most ridiculous comments made on this message board.Since there are so few fans that really care about the mens basketball program the last thing that is needed is identifying the few die hard fans that remain and do care .Its April Fools Day and there is no end to the foolishness.

Re: Th3Hype: Glad You're Back

Im glad that hype and dodger post here. I do understand that comments like no one wants to come and everyone wants to leave can be upsetting. We all want Rutgers to succeed. Perhaps in lieu of comments that are perceived as inflammatory theyd be willing to post what they actually hear from aau coaches players etc..without naming names. Info like that gives their comments a context.
Is it set in stone that Jordan is here until the real money arrives? Is there anything that can be done..because it cant get much worse

Welcome back, Hype. Is that a little unfair, though? Isn't Sanders a legit player?

oh please stop with the lecturing, as JMM said there are hardly few fans left. Hype brings something to the board. Everyone liked him when he had good news to say didn't they, now that he isn't so positive, it becomes a problem. Reality is the program keeps setting new lows and hitting new bottoms. I do not think there is actually constant bashing of negativity all day long here. There is hardly anything to be discussed at all...a whole season basically was just played out for absolutely nothing. Reality is things are bleak but go ahead and act like they aren't but do not tell people what they cannot post

Ive been away awhile.....is this the same hype that was an absolute rose colored glasses pollyanna just a few months ago?

Wow....sad...even sadder that I agree with him now LOL

bac, bdodg and others, thanks for the support. I have absolutely NOTHING to report because there is nothing to report. There is no buzz, no high profile guys focused on RU, or anything else of a positive nature. This team won 10 f'n games! TEN! 1-0. I saw ZERO to be optimistic about. I hate the EJ hire as much now as I ever have. Sorry.

I love Sanders, but I am of the belief that fans will grow tired of him quick because he isn't the "second-coming". He is just a good player on a BAD team. The rest of the recruits would be walk ons in the CAA, other than Mike Williams and Foreman. They could be solid off the bench players in the A10. There is NO B1G talent anywhere on the RU campus that will don the scarlet. You guys can either appreciate, hate or ban me, but as a once huge supporter of the school, now just a fed up fan, I will always be around.

Always appreciate the insight Hype. This is disheartening to read.

what are your thoughts on the Mullin hire ?

Hype - I laughed as I just read your comments about Mullin and St. John's. Almost immediately after posting how I generally agree with you, I find myself disagreeing about the Mullin hire. So much for great minds think alike, lol . I see Mullin being a risk as he has never coached previously. He is such a workaholic, and he has such an exceptional understanding of the game, however, that I believe he will learn and become a very, very good coach. I also understand he has the financial resources to bring in high quality assistants (I am a fan of Matt A) and believe the staff will be quite strong. I am not anti-Hurley, but I sense the upside is so much greater with Mullin.

Glad to see you posting. Please remain involved on the board. I appreciate good posters regardless of their substantive views on the RU program.

Terrible isn't the word to describe the Mullin hire. I would have to be restrained if they did that for our big time sport here (football). Has the guy even coached a rec game? Serious question.

Hype generally agree with you on everything....except I see something in Doorson. I see a motor, size, and coordination.

Do you disagree?

Yes, 100%. EXTREMELY overrated.

Hype I do not mind the negativity but given the history/perceptions of the MBB program, the move to three conferences in three years (especially to the B1G), the antiquated facilities and overall support what do you expect in short order? With the exception of bringing in Coach "K" or the resurrection of Coach Wooden who in their right mind will come to this potentially carrier ending coaching job?

Personally we need to give any coach at least five years to "start" to turn perceptions and on the court success around. If you have some ideas I would LOVE to hear the ideas along with the criticism.

Hype--I frankly enjoy reading your generally insightful and honest comments . As much as I'm pulling for EJ, I unfortunately agree with your pessimistic outlook for the team. Whatever excitement may have been generated by his initial hire has been wasted away with the awful play of the team.

Doorson extremely overrated?I didn't think anyone was thinking he was an amazing player, but i do think he has big upside. High character kid, big kid, work ethic.

I get the negativity. I know where a lot of you guys are coming from. I see similar things. I don't see what Hype is saying though. I think their are players on this team that can win 13-14 games next year. Okoro leaving is a positive unfortunately. Sanders has decent players around him,Hype.

Let's see who will suit up next season and what EJ can do with a full roster. We'll see whether or not EJ can coach next year. I thought that he can coach, but the players were either undersized or not coachable.

I hope you are posting in 3 years.....someone will be right and someone will be wrong. I am a Doorson fan. He will turn out to be the best freshman of the 3. :)
