Yes sometimes but that was a very very poor decision as Kassidy was back there with the Maryland girl and she probably would not even gotten to the ball or even gotten a shot off

First of all I would really like to state the appreciation for our seniors as they have had great careers and did get us to the college cup but back to reality
I only saw the last 25 minutes and boy were we dominated the possession had to be 85-15 in favor of Maryland and we only had one decent chance and it was the same old story of Riley having I think it was Ashley wide open on the wing and of course she held onto the ball for 10 seconds too long and by then no chance
We are probably going to make the NCAA’s and get knocked out in the first round again
This team needs an offensive stud but to me like the football team when you play such a defensive style the offensive players are not going to want to play for these types of teams.
You keep complaining about the defensive style. He hasn't played that style in quite some time.
Maryland has played better after the coaching change & played quite well today. It was a good game.
So if as you say we are not playing a defensive style then we just flat out are not good offensively as we averaged only 1.25 goals a game and in 11 Big games scored more than 1 goal in only 3 of those games so you can call it what you want but that’s not going to get it done
As for today Maryland was 1-8 in the Big a tie is just totally unacceptable and Defaz is correct we are limping into the Big tournament and hopefully we will make the NCAA as we play MSU in the second round of the Big tournament sand if we win that game go against USC in the semifinals
If we don’t beat MSU there’s a good chance we don’t make the NCAA Tournament
Do you know of any reason why Gil didn't play at all? I she hurt? If not I just don't understand this move
Announcers said she was out last 3 games due to an injury suffered in practice. Didn't say what the injury was though.
Thanks she has been playing very well lately and I think will be a real key to our offense going forward
Should've pulled 6 points from abysmal Purdue and Maryland sides. Instead get embarrassed 2-0 by Purdue and let Maryland tie the match late. Those 5 points are the difference between us finishing 5th and 2nd (with a bye):

agreed and that has been a problem since Amirah left and as you have said many times we lack overall team speed but I think we just need 1 or 2 burners up front and we will be in great shape
You're right about that, but drawing this team is still a terrible result. If I watched the game without knowing anything about the two teams, I would've guessed Maryland was the team vying for a top 4 finish and Rutgers was in the bottom half of the B1G.
Maryland coach said it was the best game they played all year. And yes to your other post re: lack of speed.
Don't care what the Maryland coach said, com'on Dad! You simply CAN NOT have a 1-0 lead on a shit team - AT HOME - and blow it late for the tie as such. We had a BYE locked-up until the last 3 matches in which we SHOULD HAVE picked up 9 points vs 3 "bottom feeders" but instead blew it and only grabbed 4??!! Now....we ALL hope that this turns around in the post-season (struggled early, got hot, struggled late this season....) but there's simply zero excuse for what happened the last 2 weekend. NONE.
You're right my bad.....we just have to play MSU straight-up instead of the winner of 1 of the 1st 2 opening round games. So not a "bye" but a little bit easier of a road to travel as I believe we would've finished 2nd (instead of UCLA). Thanks for the correction!
But we still have the same problems we have had and this will unfortunately probably another one and done in the Big tournament and the NCAA if we make it
I'd be STUNNED if we're not 0-2 in the post-season. Happily stunned but nonetheless.

Few thoughts:
Maryland played a good game--moved the ball well & showed good speed regardless of their record.
Am a firm believer that a coach can make an enormous difference with a team, as is apparently evident with the Terps.
For those who didn't see the tying goal go to the Terps web site. It was set up by a ball over the top which a Terp girl ran under, with only Kassidy, who was right in front of her & was the only RU player between the Terp & the cage. For those who still complain about Mike's ultra conservative strategy, which he has abandoned for a few yrs now, most of our girls were up & that ball never would have had a chance against our old abandoned defensive shell strategy.
All that being said, Kassidy would have been able to prevent a shot if Liv Bodmer hadn't made an enormous blunder. She came way out off her line & instead of diving on the ball or letting Kassidy play the ball she struck it off Kassidy's legs & knocked Kassidy down in the process leaving the Terp girl to walk in & put the loose ball in the back of the net.
It was really a shame because we had the game & Liv had played a fine game, including a finger tip save over the crossbar &, by & large, has been excellent all year.
We got tied, late, by.a crappy team. Period. Nothing else matters.
Now....let's shock the world and win the conference tournament!!!!
Agreed we shouldn't have been 1-0 and basically dominated by Maryland the last 25 minutes

I will reiterate Maryland was not a crappy team. They played very well. Don't let records dominate your thinking & don't let facts get in your way. I was there , were YOU?
"you are what your record says you are"....we went into the final 10 days with 9 EASY points on the table and came away with 4....BOTTOM LINE.
Dad this is where we have to agree to disagree it doesn't matter how they looked they had won only 1 big ten game and if you are saying that they played well than its another way of saying we aren't very good and as NUTS said we left what should have been 9 easy points and got only 4 and this is a disturbing trend that has been happening over the last 3 seasons and if we underperform in the BIG tournament and NCAA's if we make it than we have to revisit the coaching situation
I'm not quarreling with the notion that we left points on the board. My point to You & Nuts is that we didn't play against Maryland's record. We played against the Maryland team that showed up on Sunday, & as their coach said , it was the best game they played all year. They looked pretty damn good & we didn't play badly. And which we also would have won except for a gross error by our keeper. Given we still have weak spots such as our left outside back position & lack of overall speed. With regard to speed I can't understand why Mike played Allie Post the whole second half at left wing--no speed, not strong on the ball as opposed to Gia Girman who played well in the 1st half & who has been playing well lately, & who has much more speed than Allie & who is much stronger on the ball.
You are whoever shows up for those 90 minutes, and never more or less than that.
