Beside Rutgers football kicking off tomorrow, RU commits 285 Kyonte Hamilton (football & wrestling) Georgetown Prep, Md., and 182 Brian Soldano (High Point HS), will be wrestling at the terrific Super 32 tournament in Myrtle Beach, SC. #2 ranked Hamilton will have an opportunity to reclaim his #1 ranking as Chase Horne is entered and expected to be the #1 seed. Hamilton lost a close match to Horne a few weeks ago and admitted he wasn't in top shape and vowed to be ready this time to reclaim the #1 ranking. Hamilton will probably face the #3 seed , 3rd ranked Hayden Copass (Wisconsin commit) in the semi finals. This kid is HUGE, probably every pound of the 285 pound weight limit. i don't think Kyonte has faced Copass before (Hamilton wrestled 220 or lower earlier in his career). Horne beat Copass 4-0 earlier this year.
RU commit 8th ranked Brian Soldano is also entered in a stacked weight class, I expect him to be seeded around 4-5 for this tournament, Blair Academy's #2 ranked Rylan Rogers (uncommitted junior) is entered and will probably be the top seed at 182.
It appears there are about 75 kids from NJ entered for this 2 day tournament, starting 8am Saturday and ending Sunday afternoon. Some of the other top NJ wrestlers besides High Point/Rutgers Brian Soldano entered are : from Delbarton 132 lbs. Nico Nardone (U Penn) , 152 lbs Andrew Troczynski, U Penn, 120 Tyler Vazques, 152 Colin Calvetti, St. Joe’s 138 Alex Almeyda (uncommitted), 160 Michael Dellagatta, Bergen Catholic's highly touted 106 freshman Anthony Knox and 126 Joseph Cangro, Don Bosco's 126 Kelly Dunnigan (Penn), Camden Catholics/U Penn 195 Martin Cosgrove, Paramus 152 Aaron Ayzerov.(Columbia), Westwood 126 Ethan Fernandez, Kingsway 160 Dakota Morris, Hunterdon Central 152 Colton Washleski.
