Rutgers wrestling seeks elusive win over top 10 team Sunday against Illinois

I thought they might give Soldano a shot at 197 after Friday night. But I have a feeling that he might have a strategic "injury" and not wrestle again and apply for a Medical Redshirt.

Shawver has to get better on bottom. It’s the one hole in his game that needs significant improvement. I know Byrd is legit but Shawver’s only real means of escape is granby rolls.

Damn. Good match. 133 going to be wild this year. If no Crookham, this weight wide open

Shawver is so weak on bottom. It’s cost him multiple times this year already. Giving up that escape with 1 second left was brutal as well.

Is pretty much every bout the rest of the way a toss up or close to it?

One rule change I’d like to see is a stall call for going off the mat, no questions asked. Refs will call stalls for not being able to stay in the circle, but intentionally wrestling themselves from a dangerous position to being off the mat completely should have some sort of repercussion.

Because he’s getting pushed all over May. Can’t constantly back up
I agree he’s getting worked but he tried to toss Webster and they ended up out of bounds. By rule that’s action that took them out and shouldn’t be a stall

I’ve seen them calling that all year when guys are constantly on edge and then they try a toss to keep themselves from stalling. The reality is you shouldn’t always be on the edge. I like the calls. Clark never took a step forward all match

Harer nice on top.. those were backpt swipes tf… now I’m starting to see why lotta guys don’t pick bottom vs Harer

Fair enough

Did Kraisser take bottom?? If so, I just don’t understand why guys do that after being ridden like a mule the period prior
