  • My MVP award goes to the offensive line for ultimately taking over and dominating the LOS and game. That was the best OL performance we've seen since the 2014 bowl game vs North Carolina. Big Ups to Kamaal Seymour, Marcus Applefield, and Mike Maietti, who had the best game of their careers. On one particularly impressive play, Seymour and Applefield drove their men about 8 yards into the end zone making it easy for Hicks to score. For much of the game, it looked like Illinois DL was playing on roller skates. Cole and Miller were solid. OL is jelling and as long as they continue to get better, Rutgers will have a chance to win every remaining game
  • Jay Harris might be the best safety on the roster. 11 tackles, 1 interception, and 1 forced fumble is as good a safety debut as I can remember
  • Gus Edwards had the best game of his Rutgers career, averaging 4.3 YPC, with many of those yards coming after contact. He also had a 33 yard reception coming out of the backfield.
  • Raheem Blackshear averaging 14.5 ypc. This is a Reggie Bush like stat.
  • Jerome Washington didn't play much of the game, yet the running game still flourished. Big Ups to Nakia Griffin- Stewart for filling in, and doing a great job
  • Gio had a terrific game, averaging about 6 YPC. Concerned about his ability to stay healthy, given his propensity to take a lot of shots. Passing has to get better as a 50% completion rate won't cut it against the Michigans and Penn States, who usually dominate our OL, making it difficult for the running game to flourish
  • Bolin came in like a professional, and made a terrific throw to get a much needed first down
  • Kevin Wilkins has consistently been the best Rutgers DL, and the Illinois game was no exception, notching 4 tackles and 1 tfl. Hard for teams to run when Wilkins is driving his man into the backfield
  • The Rutgers sack attack showed signs of life with Sebastian Joseph and Kemoko Turay each notching a sack
  • Deonte Roberts quietly having an All Big Ten type season finished with 9 tackles
  • Need to cut down on turnovers.
  • Much needed Big Ten Win, on the Road
  • 4 More Wins Till we Bowl

Who is Jay Harris?
The ESPN guy?

the only way we get 4 more wins is if they count 2 from last year and even with that I still dont see it.

EVERY remaining game is winnable, as long as we continue to get better. OLine is almost at peak operating efficiency. DLine is improving game by game. Need to avoid any more injuries in the secondary and Need more wins to make it easier to recruit.

Even Penn State? Really?

LOL. For the first time in a long time, Al predicted an RU win accurately. (morgan don't count)
He is not going to get realistic any time soon
He predicts a win every week. His calls were 1-14 against FBS teams over the last 2 years heading into the illinois game.
Poor Al - guy can't believe the program has fallen this much. He is crushed to see everything that Greg had build destroyed so easily. Just not right.

if you hadn't put that last bullet in there I would have called this one of your best posts ever and given you a like lol.

If Cuse can beat Clemson then RU can beat PSU too. Cuse win should motivate Rutgers to make some news and shake up the playoff picture.

If Cuse goes bowling and we don't go bowling, things are going to get much harder for us on the recruiting trail. We need to fight and claw and get every win we can. I sense that Saturday was a turning point, and that we should be able to play much better football going forward. Every remaining game is winnable, but we've got to Execute. Michigan and Michigan State aren't that great. Penn State is likely out of our league, but we need to give them a run, at the very least. The rest are toss ups. Need to make it happen. A win Saturday will get us to 3-4.

We have no shot against PSU, sorry. Will be a very ugly game and I'm totally fine with us trying to run the clock instead of "try to win" as to not lose by 50. Michigan however with their current QB is not off the table anymore. They have a very good D, I feel similar to that game as we all did about Nebraska. It's winnable but we have to excecute and limit our own mistakes. Go get Purdue first, they are better than everyone expected.

Clemson is a paper tiger this year. And Cuse looks good on both sides of the ball. They have their wtf loss against middle tenn, and they habe an upset. We can counter with an upset ourselves.

Lets just play them one game at a time and let the other teams do the same. People get injured others rise to the occassiin. We are only halfway thru tje season.

Al is a clown. He predicted 41-14. I bet on Rutgers to win. It was a very winnable game. Most Rutgers fans thought we would win.

No, Al was always a lovable but totally insane RU eccentric, at least since the Schiano years. I mean, he called us the USC of the East.

No, Clemson is not a paper tiger this year. Yes, they lost an absolute great qb, but a team doesn't go from nat'l champs to a paper tiger in one year. This might be more attributable to the normal occurrence of a good team looking ahead and a decided underdog going all in.

C'mon man, Al is a fan, not a clown. He may be over the top with his predictions but he believes RU can win every time it plays. Gotta love it.

Predicted RU to beat Ohio State. Said that Bolin would be the best QB in school history. His Schtick is absurd.

I don't know what the problem is with O'Korn. I saw him play several years ago for Houston at a Rutgers homecoming game and he looked great. For some reason, he hasn't clicked for Michigan.

At least Al is a REAL RU fan, not like some of the phony trolls who pretend to be RU fans that post on this board!

Al is a troll. Picking Rutgers to upset Ohio State is trolling.
