Maybe it's me, but it seems like we needed some more celebration of our newest Scarlet Knight, Destiny Adams. Been waiting for something on the official website or the RUWBB twitter page or something. What's the deal??! Give us something!!

Come on now! Don't drop the ball as soon as we get some good news. Keep it going!!

Still need to see some more pics of Destiny in Rutgers gear. Let everybody see, she is in the building.

Apart from anything else, she may not be in the building yet. Portal athletes generally finish their scholastic year at the school they are leaving, absent some other issue.

I know it has been years - over 10 in fact - since I was in NJ directly following Rutgers. But I never thought much of Rutgers media then or really much that I have seen since.

a thought if interested then is it allowed i am ok with a delete if needed
www.247sports.com/college/northcarolina but if it doesnt link up go to browser nc football forums and its there.

quite a few sub categories one of which is womans basketball. The Destiny Adams post to see has 108 posts 9 5 pages) in the first two all the responses are how much they like and will miss her. One hundred eight is a lot

one thing i learned is how much time she spent as backup center and power forward or defensive specialist. Enough from me but if you want to read about her consider this

You know........I thought about that after I posted it. I was actually saying it in the figurative sense in which young folk today use the phrase, "in the building". If you have watched the NBA on TNT. Kenny "The Jet" Smith says it all the time. He's a NY guy who stays up to date on and sometimes uses the lingo of the younger generation.

It's just a way of emphasizing that she's with us now, basketball-wise. She'll be a full-fledged Scarlet Knight when finals are over in Chapel Hill.

Just to be clear, the RUWBB Media Specialist has been very good, in my opinion. Excellent short videos, and plugs for RU-related documentaries, etc. The recent coverage of Coach Pointer, and now Kahleah Copper are wonderful!

I just felt the need to express my bewilderment at the lack of Destiny A. coverage.

You live in Tucson, correct? If so, then you've become accustomed to having all 3 major network stations right in town. So once they're done doing the weather forecast 3 times in a half hour broadcast, they focus on the UofA sports, including women's basketball.

Things are different in NJ, where there no major network affiliates, except one station way down in Atlantic City. This is the curse that RU has always confronted - the media that most people in NJ watch comes from out-of-state and sports-wise, their coverage focuses mostly on the seemingly dozens of professional sports teams in the two major metropolitan areas of what I refer to as "Greater New Jersey."

So a major recruit from the transfer portal will generate scarcely a ripple in the airwaves of Greater NJ. Sadly, that has long been the case. Since my first graduation from RU, I've lived in Columbus, O., Syracuse, NY, and now, Tucson. AZ. All three are metro areas that don't overlap with anywhere else and each has a major university with a P5 sports program. None has to share time with other big teams and, especially, pro teams. It's a nice situation to have. Unfortunately, RU doesn't have it. I've always wished that it did.

I can't say I ever watch the local Tucson (or any) news on the networks, I think I saw a WBB clip from one of the stations one time on Facebook. But not surprised at what you say, because I read the Star every day when we are home (we are on vacation at the moment) and the coverage of UofA sports is great and women's basketball I'd give a good. Lots better than NJ, of course.

My issues with Rutgers have little to do with TV. I'm a born and raised New Jersey person, lived my first 55 years of life in Union (the one by Elizabeth) and then the Rutgers area, particularly East Brunswick and South Bound Brook, and Rutgers College class of 1978. My issue was always the lack of Rutgers ability to penetrate locally, which Greg Schiano helped when he originally came, and that's all great, but I go back to 1996 when Kevin McConnell was promoting the team, and the promotions - such as they were - never made a dent locally.

One of the requirements in moving was the local - ideally P5 - college. We fully got, and I have discussed in various threads over the years, the issues with drawing attendance and attracting disposable funds in an area like NJ with so many sports and entertainment options nearby. But - at least as of when we left in 2011 - few folks discussed Rutgers athletics and fewer still Rutgers Women's Basketball. That is where I always felt the media department could have done better. I don't know how, but . . .

Yes, it's the knowing how to put a dent in that which has always been RU's problem.
