We only need to think back to the last coaching change. Lots of rumors floating around then. Early on, it was a "done deal" with Cristobal. That never panned out. While speculation is fun, a wait and see approach is best.

To quote are now beloved Pres:

In the coming days and weeks, you may read and hear rumors, speculation, opinions, and concerns regarding the football search. I ask for your patience and trust, as the leaders of your University help write a new chapter in our history.

i like Schianos attacking D but if he is the HC again he needs money to bring in a good OC. No more new OC each year.

He's not coming back here. He's seen the limitations.
I think he goes somewhere he can compete for more than respectable.....some place with a higher ceiling.

You may be right, but no one is exactly beating down his door. Where's he going as a head coach? Syracuse? Virginia? He's not getting the Miami job if he hasn't been hired already.

Exactly. What openings are there with a higher ceiling than ours, that would actually have interest in him? It's the same thing as when people tell us to be realistic with our HC candidate expectations.

I still think it all depends on if he believes he might get another look in the NFL. If he does, would he really want to come back for anything other than a prime college job?

If he just wants to get back in, I agree Rutgers might be the best spot but I can also see us wanting to at least see who else is out there. I don't think we'd lose out on him if we took a few days to explore all our options.

I don't disagree, just don't see any NFL teams being interested, unless it's at the coordinator level.
