Ok so need some help understanding this. The final score was 76-67. Why and how did Nebraska get 2 extra points?

Yes, Palmer made a layup that didn't register on the scoreboard towards the end, stayed at 67 should have been 69.

The scoreboard operator at the RAC is often chatting with someone when he should be paying attention to the game. He has missed baskets on a number of occasions over the years.

Exactly. Saw it last night and saw it again on replay today. Hard to believe it wasn't noticed or corrected at such an important time in the game.
It was 6 pt and not 8 or lead at that time. 2 pocessions not 3.

And during the RU-MSU game Sunday, the operator screwed up and added an extra 2 points to MI ST. When he tried to fix it, he added 100, so for a time, MI ST had 139 points, then 140, then 139.

He never was able to set the correct score (eventually it was set to 2 points too high), so the next time MI ST scored, they didn’t increment the score.

It was crazy, and held up the game for way too long.
