So I called my season ticket rep yesterday, as my dad and I have two season tickets for football. Every year, you are allowed to get two free tickets to a basketball game when you renew your season tickets. There are some stipulations on games usually as you can't get big ten games, or like the best out of conference games (seton hall, florida state, etc)...This has always been the case, and makes sense.
I asked for my two tickets to be for the Cleveland State game on a Tuesday night November 14th. They said, you are only allowed one ticket this year even though we have two season tickets. I responded, so if I had 10 season tickets, I would still only get one ticket, to which the rep responded "yes"..When i asked if there was anyone else that I can speak to regarding this, she replied "No", as this is what they are doing this year. Also, they will not mail your ticket, you have to go down to the RAC to redeem the ticket.
I know people will, say, hey, the ticket is free, but this is just bad business. That Cleveland State game on Tuesday will be lucky to be half full, not to mention they are still making money on parking and refreshments. This doesn't make any sense to me, as I am not going to the game alone, and now must use the free ticket, and purchase another ticket when I get there. Wouldn't it make sense to drum up more interest in these bad games by sticking to the two ticket policy.
