Seton hall is who we have to catch first before we're able to talk championships here.

I like their style - it's very jersey. They have skills and play physical basketball.

The good thing is, coach pike brings some real good concepts to our team - notably a rebounding mentality. Seems like a good place to start a rebuild of a program.

That was a great game. I'm actually shedding tears ;)

OK you know I'm no fan, but exactly how is SHOE not a better team than how they're playing? I don't see too many weaknesses. Maybe not much offense down low when you get past Delgado, but they have some seroiusly good players. I haven't been to the SHOE board in years but I would imagine they're not too happy with Willard. they should be better than 13-10.

im not familiar enough with strength of the teams in ncaab but they definitely do look to have top 25 type players. So what's the problem? Looks like both Rutgers and seton hall could trade a few players that the other team would need more badly.
Good thing is that their level of play looks very attainable for the Rutgers program.

The Big East is very balanced as a league once you get past Villanova, Creighton and if healthy Xavier, they are the clear top 3....with Xavier's injuries and departures (Sumner ACL this past week and NJ's Myles Davis departed the program after a suspension), it's really Creighton and Villanova.

The rest of the league is very close, minus DePaul who is a little better, but still trailing the pack...Butler, Marquette, SHU, SJU, GTown and Providence all are bunched together right now.....maybe on a game to game basis, Butler has a small edge over the others, but it's really not much at all.

It's hard to separate that group of teams after the top 3, so every game is close or right down to the wire.....when you play that many close games, you'll get some and drop some....FT shooting is an issue, as dominant as Delgado is, he's a 50% FT shooter and the team is around 60%...if SHU was a little better from the line, they are probably 2-3 games better in those close games.

SHU is a good team but their offense does not scare anyone

Went to Newark a couple of weeks ago with my kids and watched them destroy St. Johns. Delgado had a 20/20 game and just dominated them. They're a good team, but I believe they need another big and more shooters to get them to the next level. We went down to the locker room after the game and I spoke to Fred Hill for a while and got a chance to say hello to Chris Mullin. Not sure if they were running a promo that day but I liked how they advertised themselves. They had tables set up when you walked in with Seton Hall stickers, tattoos, pictures of the team, refrigerator magnets, etc... that were all free. Plus they had a spinning wheel were you could win a shirt. I don't go to many RU games but I've never seen anything like that at the RAC. I thought it was a great way to advertise your product.

Two problems with SH not having a better record: free throw shooting and KW. FT % has cost SH at least 3 Ws. KW 's offense involves a weave, but its the hairstyle weave and its very offensive. (To borrow a parody from Patrick)

at 13-10 they are no SHOE in (haha) for the NIT at this point either.

Interesting league to say the least. Marquette beats Creighton and Villanova back to back and then loses to Providence and St. John's back to back.

Loss to Xavier was a killer for SHU's NCAA's chances.

4 team NCAA league? Nova, Creighton, Butler and Xavier? Marquette, Providence, GT and SHU fighting on the Bubble?

as of right now, and of course things can change, SHOE is only on the NIT bubble. They are out of the Tourney. Now watch them win the BET again.

well I think you guys have enough talent on the team to be in the NCAAs. So I guess thats a bad job by Willard.

FT shooting is what it is. We know!
