Kind of screwing us as of late, down 20 at Villanova currently and will likely fall to the fringes of Q1. Would really kill any tournament pipe dreams if they fall below 75

The BE in general seems to be a thorn in our NCAA hopes but I’m not sure the quads themselves have really been the end all. Taking this pounding is damaging but what we really need in the end is for SHU to maintain their 3rd place slot in those standings ahead of the other bubblers. The BE plays a balanced schedule so that should matter.

What happened to them? They had such a good stretch for awhile. Injuries? Coming back down to earth?

Much like Penn state in football, I cannot root for SHU to win at any point in time
The chances of SHU making THE difference for us making it in, is small, so let them lose, and take our chances

SHU has a way better resume than RU right now and they are last 4 in/last 4 out line

hard to argue with wins of U Conn and Marquette plus wins at Butler who is now projected in field and bubblers Providence and St Johns, They lost all the ooc bigger games and thats an issue

That game was a killer for SHU. They’re getting into trouble. Some interesting theories out there about Richmond’s alleged “load management” break. Even if true, it flipper their entire season.

right now they are still straddling the last 4 in/last 4 out line right now. The NET certainly does not help them. A big concern is Butler and Providence have played their into the field ahead of SHU in the pecking order with St Johns, Nova and Xavier also lurking. Big East has 3 locks but there are 6 schools competing for 2-3 bids. I dont think they get more than 6

The UConn win is worth two wins but they will have to do something of note down the stretch other than just win the games they should.

Xavier
at St Johns
Butler
at Creighton
at UConn
Villanova
De Paul

winning the home games is mandatory full stop. None of the home games are in Q1 and that is a worry. They will need to win at St Johns.....5-2 puts them in decent shape, almost better to win at Creighton, how large does the 3 OT loss at home to Creighton loom

Minnesota has blown a 20 point lead at Iowa 62-42.
Iowa leads 78-77.
Not good signs for either team.
It's just a potential Q3 win for Iowa.

Minnesota really needs this one if they want to keep their longhot ncaa hopes alive
Minnesota never had a chance. They have the 362nd OOC schedule, dead last according to NET 347th RPI, the remaining 4 road games @ PUR, @ NEB, @ ILL, and @ NW. This is the last winnable road game. You can't have the easiest OOC schedule and get in and go 2-8 on the road, no OOC road games, 0-1 neutral.

sure they had a chance...RU was dead in the water until yesterday

Minnesota has a rough numbers but do have wins over Michigan State, Nebraska and Northwestern...thats 3 ncaa likely schools. Its up to them to make hay with their upcoming schedule. Had they won today they were up to 16-7....going 5-3 would have put them at 21-10 and certainly in consideration. Now their margin of error is slim as they will have to win 2 road games if they hold serve at home

dont know how you can say that its their last winnable road game. Thats why they play the games

Totally disagree.

To my knowledge no children were ass-raped in setonhall showers

So, no, the animosity for SHU pales in comparison to Ped State.

SHU is utterly irrelevant to me. We beat them so I hope they do well to help our #s

I could not care less about SHU

Ped State? I root against their women’s golf team

The committee showed last year that they don't just use the NET. Win 19 games plus one in the B1G Tournament and you're in. Last year they considered how we were down the stretch without Mag. This year they should consider how much better we are down the stretch with the addition of JWill.

With Donovan Clingan going out with his foot injury in that Uconn loss to SHU, it's kinda hard to take that win too seriously. RU probably needs SHU to lose more games than rooting for SHU to win. There's way too much Q1/Q2 stuff. A quality road win is what RU will need at Wisconsin and at Minnesota, while playing well at Purdue.....those 3 items are more critical than worrying about what SHU does or doesn't.

The Big East is probably maxed at 5 bids and I think Butler/SHU are the 2 that make it 5.....but if SHU falters, it will likely be just 4 from the Big East. Providence, St John's are going in reverse and Nova is in the RU boat, needing to get to 18 to 19 wins, before the Big East tourney.

right now they are a 12 seed last 4 in/last 4 out type...they have a win over U Conn AND Marquette, that is enormous.
Yes sir. I get it. Metrics rule. Just saying I don't see it as a team. Not overly impressed watching them.

It’s not a matter of either program’s reputation, or based on past actions
of either program

I dislike SHU as a basketball opponent and likewise for PU
Both based on being local and on the field or court rivals
Don’t want either to win

I hear ya. I certainly don’t root for shu. But i don’t really pay ANY attention to them. If their winning helps RU then cool. That’s all I care about it .

But PSU?!? I wish happy valley would sink into the ground and take all of its obsessed morally corrupt cultists with it

No way. We could really use a quad 1 win - especially on the road. Getting more would be great. But why toss our only good road win aside and hope we find more to replace it?
