Shoes gets a lot of credit for this one

All get equal credit. Shoes did a great job, but EJ and Van were going down to watch freeman a lot. The staff together did a tremendous, tremendous job.

I also feel that credit goes to all 3 of them.Simply, a great job by all which many felt would not happen.

No doubt, Eddie had to close the deal. Just adding the comments from Deshawn's coach about shoes and his effort in Rutgers getting him.

So does that mean that we won't be able to sign anyone else to this class who would be eligible to play next season? One article mentioned that RU is now at the full complement of 13 scholarship players for next year (which does not include the KSU transfer). But I thought that bball teams could have 14 scholarship players at one time. Anyone know for sure? It seemed like there were some other decent players still looking at us, though Freeman was the number one priority.

If someone good wants to come we could make room. It's not like we're boiling over with talent.

Sanders, williams,Laurent, freeman, lewis and servicable backup will win games!

Slkoolie, team has talent man!
Talent must be viewed against the opposition which Rutgers will play in the B1G.It will take a major effort in player development for Rutgers to win 5 league games next season.I base that comment on the fact that Rutgers has a long history of not winning league games on the road.

The BIG games definitely will be tough to win. Our OOC seems tougher too. We just might be a much better team but still might not win more than 12-13 games. I hope I am wrong as I am hoping we can get to .500.

As most of us thought....Shoes is a recruiting shark. Him, Macon and Jordan will have us in play for some good guys next year......2 spots open, a big man and a SG. I would love a stretch 4.

Shoes is no Danny Hurley, but, there are only so many Hurleys out there....lol

Shoes might not be Danny Hurley but we did beat Hurley in this recruiting battle. People on the Rhode Island fan site are very upset that we got Freeman. a few really made fun of RU and wondering why Freeman would join a last place team. They really wanted Freeman bad. Those people that made the comments are really acting like sore losers.

Regardless of who gets credit for getting Freeman -- and it looks like a team (entire staff effort) -- it is a huge pickup. With Corey coming and Freeman and the other members of this class plus the development of the guys we already have, it gives poor demoralized RU bball fans some real hope for next season and the future. It looks like the talent is here !

Shoes connections got Freeman, Sanders, and Doorson. Nothing against Macon or O'Koren. Just a fact. Bottom line if Shoes isn't here, we don't have any of those three. No way. Credit where credit is due.

The overwhelming support by folks here when Eddie hired him was amazing.

it would be nice if some of the people that ridiculed the hiring of Shoes would comment....Three very harsh and vocal posters immediately come to mind but they have chosen to remain silent in this thread.

For the 1st time in awhile I am optimistic....however nothing is accomplished on paper. The final exam is what occurs on the court.

That turned into he's no good and now back to he's our good Shoes .
But RU MBB fans look for the Dark instead of the light and when some brightness shines: claims that the light bulb will burn out pop up
instead of enjoying it,

We are the the Harlow Monkeys clinging to something (our pain) that seems better than the alternative (total surrender).

It is funny that Freeman was a fan of Arenas and Eddie was coach of that team.
