Had not heard this. Truly wonder what is going on at St. John's. it is like a subway turnstile with all the transfers. Wilson just arrived and now he is gone. From my perspective this is an unstable environment and has been so during Mullins' tenure. There is no way to sugarcoat the level of talent that continues to transfer out or never arrive - like Zachary Brown. And I am a long term fan of St. John's. Clearly there are significant problems.

Looks like he picked St. John's over Texas and UCONN last year. He might have also went to Brewster which I think is the same school Gio Baker went to. We already have a SF in this class and it looks like we are trying to fill the final spot with a big man. Do people think we would go after him?

We're full right now. Doubt it.

I think coach has a plan, and there's no way Sid Wilson can arrive in a time frame to fit our coaches plan.

I was sitting with a group of old-time St. John's fans during the SJU-Penn State game at the garden prior to the RU-Fordham game in December. I was very surprised at how down they all were on Mullin and how disgusted they were with the direction of the program. Apparently, lots of St, John's alums want him out.

When Mullin arrived he tossed two talented players who were simply problematic individuals. In addition to Mullin obviously being a St John's legend, that action convinced a great many fans that he had a good feel for what the environment should be, and most fans were prepared to take a hit the first year in order to start to turn things around. Between the inconsistent play on the floor - which I expected for a couple of years - and the coming and goings of quite a number of players, there are a growing number of fans who are wondering whether this is a good fit. This is a season where more consistency should be expected and a better overall season than the last two years. Between the results on the floor, transfers, some questionable recruiting decisions, and the turmoil involving Rohrsson, mullin's star as a coach has begun to fade. I think this is an important season for him and I have doubts that he will be able to obtain commitments from his Plan A recruiting targets.

Kid left due to fit. His father wanted him to go there and sid truly did not want to be there. Hopefully he finds a place he really wants to be.

I have no idea about Wilson, except I got about 6 text messages the day he verballed and then on top of it, reclassified back from 2018 to 2017 and would be playing this coming season....some of these hoop fans were wondering when RU was going to land a player at Wilson's caliber.

While this has nothing to do with RU, a lot of fans need to place more stock in how a team performs during games....does a team defend, rebound, hustle etc...Mullin has not shown any ability to coach a talented roster to play team basketball.....they will win their fair share of games, but as a style of play, they have enough talent already....but with that amount of talent and not even being in the top half of the Big East is going to get fans antsy. St. Johns and now Georgetown appear to be a little more unsettled which is bad for the perception of the Big East, even though the league has improved significantly in the last 2-3 years.

St John's fans are going through what we went through a couple years ago. A former legend who led the school to the Final Four and just can't cut it as a college head coach. I wonder if Georgetown will have the same problem with Ewing.

Jury is out on mullin, but come on, sju has been a terrific program till recently. Sounds to me like wilson feared his nyc distractions would hinder his development but was convinced to stay local by family. So he committed, showed up, realized he was right, and left. He did reclassify up, so maybe the sit out yr isn't so bad.
