I just am looking at the board for the 1st time today. I posted late night/early AM the following Ledger article. I think a lot of folks may have missed it as it is buried in the game thread post.
Who actually knows why Calhoun quit as she did is a big question, I sure have no idea. A couple of folks/big donors that read and post here might but will not divulge which is appropriate.
So I post the article again for anybody that missed it. Maybe I missed the info about Sierra and the WNBA, but the chance of her making a team is the biggest joke ever. She averaged all of about 4 minutes a game with us and was a non-factor for the most part. Let's not forget either RU is the 3rd collegeteam she has played for after Duke, and Ohio State.
"Sierra Calhoun, who averaged 4.0 points in 24 games after arriving as a grad-transfer from Big Ten-rival Ohio State, left the team earlier this week, according to Eatman, who said in a school-released statement: “Sierra informed our staff that she has decided to leave the team in order to prepare for the next chapter in her life.’’

Great points, but it is still puzzling why she would leave just before the NCAA tourney began. I really don't know, as I just read that article last night without explanation. All I know is this team at least the nucleus of this team is coming back and adding Davenport and Alexis. They will regroup and hopefully we won't see this kind of turmoil next year. This team needs to build on the good of this year and take it further.

Don’t forget Tyia Singleton also redshirted this season.

I was wondering about her and consider her possible a good replacement for Victoria if Mael
Gills don't step up as a junior.
Not sure about Wallace being counted on in her senior year, but hope for the type of improvement from Jordan that will provide some quality depth in the frontcourt .

As much as some people seem to dislike taking graduate transfers, I hope we add one or two for next season. While Calhoun didn't work out very well, Wilson was essential to our success this season and Greene was a good addition the previous season.

KK should also back next year and probably will be the team leader.

All season, having watched KK's passion and involvement from the bench in every game, every possession, offensive and defensive, I have no doubt.

Also, though, having read Alexis Morris's tweets, for several months now, I can tell you this talented young student-athlete LOVES the game (and is really hurting not being in the fray with Baylor). If the coaches and her teammates can get her to buy into our team fully for next year, she might just be the emotionally leader that can take us deep into the dance. We've already seen video's of Noga working out with her. IMO, though, it will mostly take KK and AG's efforts to make that happen.

Thanks. I didn't know much about Alexis Morris.

its total bs that she would up and leave...
yes it is, unless there was something involved that we don't know about that would make it look better.
For now I can't defend her, but I remember not to long ago I judged a player who was dismissed because she was arrested , only to see the charges dropped and leaving me to wonder if I overreacted.
So I won't condemn her, just say it doesn't look like a nice thing to do to those who were counting on her to play.
