The NY Mets are moving their radio rights from WOR (710) to WCBS (880).
Hopefully this puts an end to early season Rutgers broadcasts on WOR being moved around when they conflict with a Mets game.
On the Mets front it changes their dynamic with WFAN (a sister station to CBS). Ever since the FAN dropped the Mets for the Yankees, the Mets have kept managers and players from appearing on WFAN. Evidently they also moved the FAN's Ed Coleman off of their chartered flights (other radio and TV get to travel charter but print media flies commercial). The other speculation involves the announcers. While Howie Rose will remain, the #2 slot is up for grabs.
One article noted that WOR lost money during their 5 year contract with the Mets.
