This will touch all of the brands. Auburn is an Under Armour school. Arizona and USC are Nike. Just that Gatto/ Adidas has already been indicted.
Until more information is known what I believe is happening is that coaches at non Adidas sponsored schools were trying to get players who played for Adidas sponsored AAU teams. That's why you see Nike and Under Armour School assistant coaches mentioned. This will touch all of the brands. Auburn is an Under Armour school. Arizona and USC are Nike. Grass roots basketball is shady as can be.
Agreed. Lots of back channel negotiations all being orchestrated by the big 3 shoe companies. Just Gatto was the biggest fish discussed so far. This goes back to Vaccarro and earlier.Until more information is known what I believe is happening is that coaches at non Adidas sponsored schools were trying to get players who played for Adidas sponsored AAU teams. That or the non Adidas School coaches were taking bribes from Sports agents to get a current player on their roster to sign with a particular sports agency. The agency that appears to be coming up is ASM, which is where Christian Dawkins works.
Sonny Vaccaro is on CNBC now saying he's shocked but not surprised. He's shocked that it goes beyond one school etc..Agreed. According to WDRB’s Jason Riley, at one point a sum of money was agreed upon between the university and the player believed to be Bowen, but a “rival apparel company” ended up coming in for more. One of the men involved in the scheme allegedly talked to another coach at the school about obtaining more money. That’s reportedly when Gatto and Adidas stepped in and raised his offer. The auburn USC Arizona charges have nothing to do with their sportswear company.
Only 1 sportswear company involved. Adidas

That has nothing to do with the auburn USC or Arizona scheme.
2 different schemes.
No other sportswear company did anything illegal. Adidas is only one to do so.
Well they did say it's an ongoing investigation, they're still doing interviews and they have a tip line. Who knows if anyone flips and starts talking and we go deeper down the rabbit hole.Pay to play is the scheme. Just figuring out who is paying is the case. In some cases it is boosters in others it is the apparel company or a combination of both. Who do you think is paying for Books recruits in Arizona?
Doesn't have to be USC Auburn or Arizona but the other brands have their hands in this also. They (NIKE and UA) will be implicated also.
Once everyone starts talking to the Feds, this will all blow up. This will get very very ugly.

We will see. This isn't an NCAA investigation. These guys were arrested. They are about to start singing like you wouldn't believe. I'm betting Book Richardson has some stories. If you don't think the Feds want Nike and UA you are crazy. Would probably offer immunity. One of the guys involved at addidas just came over from Nike. Wonder what he can/will give them. That has nothing to do with the auburn USC or Arizona scheme.

Really - Lie to the NCAA and they'll probably delay action for umpteen years or just move on.This isn't an NCAA investigation.
