It’s good to be humbled and get a gut check on the road early on, get tested. Got punched in the mouth early and often. They didn’t fold, that’s impressive. These guys will learn. Ace had the chance, but freshman mistake. Should have got it to Dylan for game winner.

We will get it back somewhere else, you’ll see.

Agree 100%

I agree. I’m not that disappointed that they lost this game. If they somehow came back and won, then their confidence would’ve been higher when in a game where you force 22 turnovers, should be a definite win, not a down to the wire loss.

It’ll leave them with a chip on their shoulder going into the Las Vegas tourney. The team needed to be humbled and it’s better for it to happen now as opposed to in Vegas.

Anybody who has watched the last 3 games can't be too shocked by this. They do not look too good, and that's probably because in reality they are not too good. Talent does not equal chemisty or 'want to' on defense. Our leaders are 2 freshman - one looks like an NBA player - the other has the athletic ability of an NBA Player, but can really only score. This team will get blown out down the road. Talent is there - chemistry is not.

Anyone who watched a Rutgers game this season saw this coming. They lack any measurable defensive intensity. Bailey plays like a kid who has always had more talent and has never had to grind.
Bailey looks like he was recruited as the best player off the playground. Needs to learn a lot about organized basketball.

We are going to get destroyed in Vegas. Micah Shrewsbury is going to have ND bombing away on Tuesday, and don’t talk to me about what Alabama is going to do to us on Wednesday.
I'm not sure of that as for Notre Dame game but we can't let this loss beat us more than once.

I am mostly concerned about getting destroyed in the rebounding department and allowing a crap ton of offensive rebounds
That’s why I think this is good learning. They weren’t rebounding well and won. False sense of security. Today they get burned. Too deep a hole first half.

A loss is also sometimes a loss

this

comeback means little to me...that was almost exclusively Ace and Dylan down the stretch and KSU getting tight

it would have been impressive if RU had comeback after they were down by 5 earlier in the half but they let get to 11 which to me was alarming

Agreed. That’s why I have a feeling this will be a teachable moment. If this lose helps beating Alabama it’s a “win”, imho
thats true...i will gladly take a loss here and for a win over Bama and or Creighton

can we do it though..can we go 2-1...Notre Dame already a must win at this point

I was expecting for 2-2 out of this week thinking this was one of the wins

Getting 2 of 3 in Vegas would be a net positive week as unlikely as it feels rn

How about this was a wakeup call and we are playing for $$$ in Vegas so we go 3-0...One can dream

Then again watching Rutgers is more like a nightmare usually...

It’s like in golf, you can shank one and then totally redeem yourself with the next shot out of the rough and onto the green. Take 2 out of 3 in Vegas and all is forgiven. Tall order, but doable.

I hope this is the case and gives them a little extra motivation for Vegas. But I fear rebounding and perimeter D will plague this team all year.

Idk I don’t think there’s any looking past this loss and what it might mean for a Quad 3 loss total on the resume.

Also have weird Christmastime Q3 rivalry games against Seton Hall and Princeton, conference games against USC and Minnesota potentially — I think there’s a world where Notre Dame could fall sub-100 as well.

There's just a lack of leadership or identity on the team. The captains aren't the best players. Jeremiah is not playing like he did last year. We need him to step up and lead the team. You can't have freshman be the leaders even if they're 5 star players.

I know we keep talking about it. WHO is going to be an undeterred presence under the glass. We don’t seem to have anyone that has any desire to get ugly down there. The opponents will get much tougher. I really don’t see it and hope I’m wrong
