Before the punter dropped the snap, Michigan State was called for an illegal formation. Schiano had the choice to take the 5 yards at the end of the run, or make Michigan State rekick. It was a no-brainer in those weather conditions close to the goal line, especially viewed in hindsight. But give kudos to Schiano for making the right call, putting them in the best position. The shift in momentum away from Michgian State was key in giving Rutgers the belief that the comeback was even possible.
