I was just out to eat on my lunch break and a State Penn fan (Probably mid to late 20's) came in with a friend (wearing a RU shirt) and sat down at a table near me. Out of nowhere she said to him, "Penn state nation baby, we lit this season. We beat you guys in football and basketball. You Rutgers boys is a bunch of smurfs." I was considering commenting on the topic but realized I probably wouldnt be able to hold a conversation with a person that calls our players a bunch of smurfs.

Wtf man, are all TTFP fans this stupid?

We lit this season? Lmfao. Good to see their standards have sunk just as low as ours.
If it makes anyone happy, the fans leaving Texas Arizona after the Michigan game looked miserable.

I never understood fans of any school who approach fans of other schools at random locations...the few times that's happened to me, I've stared at them, said nothing and then simply looked away...then it becomes their uncomfortable moment!

People are weird!

For as big of a school as Penn State is, I almost never run into their grads. I meet people from every other school in the country, but have only met a few people from there.

LA doesn't have a lot of cow pastures or smell like sh*te, so maybe they just aren't comfortable here.

Northwestern fans have been getting this from larger BiG schools for years. Makes it all the more satisfying when you take them down. Every fan base has some asshats in it.

I love these "fans" they go around proudly wearing so and so colleges shirt, while talking smack to anyone who will listen. Yet, the closest they have ever come to actually attending said College, is when they go into their local Walmart to buy the shirt in the first place. LOL!

I've approached fans of other schools at random locations, but am always positive, and end up having a good chat. Met a couple in New Orleans who were late 50's, early 60's, wearing Georgia shirts, said hello and told them I'm from New Jersey, went to Rutgers.........brought up the Georgia West Virginia bowl game, said how we would hang with them, and, sometimes, in a matter of 20 minutes real time, they're up 3 TD's. He said they never saw an offense like that before, had no answers, many Bulldog fans had the game written off as an easy win.

I meant it when they do it to act like complete and utter aholes...

I believe the OP stated that the penn state fan came in with a friend who was wearing an RU shirt. I assume the convo was PSU friend to RU friend, not a random stranger.

So you overheard one anonymous person talking trash to her RU friend about how PSU beat RU in two sports and she used the term "smurfs". From which you extrapolated that therefore, PSU fans might all be stupid?

That there's some sweet irony.

smurfs are kool and Hefty smurf is very strong! I wear my RU garb in PSU land all the time and people have been nice. Let's see what happens if we kick their anti-smurfite.butts

the natural comeback would've been to say, "yeah, we can't compete with child rapists"

No offense but I would take central Pennsylvania over Los Angeles any day of the week.

...and still said friend behaved like an ahole and previous silence tactic would apply...in fact, it would be more effective and uncomfortable!:joy:

A girl talking smack about sports is in a world of her own. OP didn't say she was hot or even presentable so we can assume she was hideous.

I was recruiting for my company at a convention two weeks ago and talking to a graduate student from Penn State's Harrisburg campus. An arrogant a-hole PSU alum (I realize that I am being redundant) comes up to us and asks the graduate student if he ever considered "transferring up" to State College (which of course was the campus he attended). Before the graduate student could speak up, I responded that he used to matriculate at State College but has since "transferred up" to Harrisburg.

Goto Millers Field in pacific beach San diego on a football saturday. 50/50 or better it ends in at least a BJ from a girl wearing a penn state jersey if u have any game.

WOW! Grew up in PA. Visited ten years ago for the first time in 20 years. Worse of a sewer than when I grew up. Now live in CA.

If you would prefer any place in PA over any place in CA you must be some weird dude. State College over LA. What do you do at night before you go to bed at 9PM?
