Students fleeing

Bac ,

You are joking right ? You never saw such a joke , how about the Shea years .!
Weren't you the guy a couple weeks ago that said you didn't care about the season anymore ? Bac !

Bac fleed the night of own state . Not sure why he would start a post like this now after fleeing weeks ago

Student section (and rest of stadium) was packed earlier in the game.

Just the way it looked on TV. Corners of the student section never filled up. Rest of the stadium looked like every seat was filled by kick off. When I was a student we never sat inuour assigned seats and just squeezed to the front which might have something to do with it.

Student section was not full for the first 10 minutes of the game. It was full for the 2nd Q and empty in the 2nd half.

Can't really blame them for fleeing but the fact that that section wasn't filled for kickoff is pathetic. But another example of the effects of not letting them tailgate on Busch.

I give credit to the few students who stuck around at the end. I just need to tell them, "You must not have anything better to do tonight!"

the section was mostly filled, remember they pack in one area yes those side sections are slow to fill but I don't see why the angst over it. Students did a great job, they want to support a team that gives them something, they bolted en masse when they weren't even getting a pulse

There is officially a problem with the student section thanks to what a bunch of yahoos on this board did last year crying to the AD to punt them out of Blue and other various lots. I didn't say anything on this board when it happened vs #4 MSU but now against #1 OSU the student section still wasn't filled at kickoff because it takes them 40 minutes to travel over from College Ave instead of the 10 it would take from a grass lot. Congrats guys. well done.

With virtually no students tailgating on Bush anymore, and probably 70% or more taking the bus over to the stadium, it's not easy for it to fill up quickly. Gotta come up with a better solution to all of this.

BTW - I find it funny that there are 2 pedestrian bridges being built, over Hoes Lane, but we can't get one built over River Road??? Weird.

No tailgating, weather gets colder, and midterms kick in. And we will be coming off some tough losses.

There will be lots of students dressed as silver seats. Come back in a month and tell me "BULL".

I know I've been out of school for a while, however, midterms the weeks of November 14th and 28th?

Maybe not mid-terms per say but it's usually the time of year school picks up and kids have exams/projects due.

Considering there were pockets of empty seats into the first quarter for night games vs. the #4 and #1 teams in the country I think the student turnout will not be that strong for the last 2 games.

As great as our student section as they have a ways to go. I hate PSU but they're students were 99% in before the start of the RU game this year and were synchronized and engaged until the very end.

Why is everyone crying about the students when at least 10K OH ST fans overtook our stadium and I personally would put it at at least 15k the season ticket holders should be ashamed

Bull..the section was nearly full...those side sections never fill. Even though they fled they did a great job overall. Why are people so concerned with whether its completely full. Students support the team when its doing well. I have no problem with them fleeing. Constantly bringing up the drinking situation is bogus. The school does not have to sponsor underage drinking

The students and fans did their jobs...got to their seats and got loud.

I got up for a snack and to take a leak with a few minutes to go in the first half down 14-0. by the time i got through the mens room and concession lines, and downed a couple dogs, it was 28-0. I never returned to my seat. life is too short.

When playing against the #1 team in the country and defending national champs, the student section should not be "nearly full" in the first Q. it should be packed at kickoff. I don't understand why some people think this is ok. It was full in the 2 Q. I understand why they leave early when the team is getting killed, but show up on time and support the team.

Obviously the students didn't buy 50/50 tickets. The rest of us had to wait (seemingly) forever for the announcement. Have to hand it to the Administration--good way to keep people in their seats.

I am not usually a correctitard (even though your =you're and their = there = they're drive me nuts), but I believe it's per se.

I seem to remember a lot of folks complaining about the student tailgates and the administration reacted, now the administration needs to find a better solution for them to make it easier to get into the stadium for kick-off.

Oh my God, you lazy ass millennial! lol

The administration proposes carrying the students in these to get them into the stadium, one by one.

Well here is my 2 cents - I can't get on anyone for leaving a game at 28-0 early in the 3rd. I only lasted a bit longer than them, and while depressing I certainly get it.

As far as them not being in their seats on time that needs to be fixed. And couldn't agree more with moving them off Busch (and I'm not a big tailgater) because this should be an enjoyable experience for all involved and this is where potential big donations come from. Is it possible to have a bus lane going straight from College Ave to the stadium? Probably not at this point, but definitely something to look into for gameday.

Student section did not fill in until about 2 min left in the first quarter. Then gone by halftime. So we basically had 1 quarter time worth.

The team competing is a big part but there are underlying issues regarding the student game day setup. I've talked to plenty of students and the new "tailgate" tradition is not good for the long run. Going to lose future potiential fans in the long run

It's important to have a bridge for the hoes first.

I think we have seen this many times before. Obvious reason why they hung around for Mich State was the competitiveness of the game. I think we would all be better off focusing more on the deficiencies in the on the field product rather than ancillary effects like when people arrive, how long they stay, whether we are loud enough or do the RU chant correctly, how OSU fans were in the building ...etc. Fix the product and many of these things will take care of themselves. I will admit I reached a new low this week complaining how long it took the 50/50 winner to claim their prize. I wanted to leave.
