Students to re-enact 1st game

There were also some clips of the re-enactment on ESPN during the Wisconsin game (I think). Either that one or the MSU game but that one was on Fox.

The announcers seemed to be incredulous that the sport is 150 years old. Afterward they switched to highlights of the first half of the "real" football game.

I watched one “play” and then continued my pre-game walk around the area.

Maybe others can add some more but...

The highlight I saw showed a guy carrying the ball... which did not happen in that first game. In fact, the people that claim their game was the actual first football game always point to carrying the ball to be the essential identifier of American "football".

I read a good article by Glenn Crooks, former RU Women’s soccer coach, and he described it as the first soccer games. Also said soccer should be celebrating 150 years as a result. Based on his description, it did sound more like soccer than rugby. There were references to using feet only and a goaltender.
