For the most part once football was over, it was a bummer for RU fans. Many of the other schools had BB season for excitement, but not us. Now it looks like it's our turn to have a good basketball squad. Are you feeling good about the possibilities ?

If you are a football season ticket holder, do yourself a favor and get to some basketball games at the RAC.

The team will be competitive this year, and the players will put forth great effort on the court. Not making predictions about wins and losses, just saying it will be a fun time at the RAC.

I am feeling very good about the direction of the program. However I am not as optimistic about next season. I get very concerned hearing about the expectations for this year.

Agree completely. A repeat of last year's performance is the likely outcome, which is fine as long as we maintain recruiting momentum. 2018-2019 may be a setback year as we likely lose Corey, Freeman and Williams. 2019-2020 is the year to expect moving into 8-10 range in conference versus the current bottom 3

Last year OOC we played good and dodged a bullet with Hartford. We have 11 OOC non P5 games that most expect us to go 11-0. Doubtful it will happen. My over/under is 9 1/2

Agree completely. I fully expect a record similar to last year. Expectations will probably have to be tempered once we get through a very weak OOC schedule and start playing B1G teams. Still, there should be more excitement at the RAC this year as we appear to finally be heading in the right direction.

I want to start to win games at the RAC we weren't supposed to. This was a regular occurrence with Rutgers teams that were the same talent or worse than this team. It's going to happen sooner or later, why can't it be this year.

1 nice thing is this setup in our schedule to both build wins and have solid challenges, with all of these games, except 1 at the RAC:
* 6 easy ooc games to start the year
* FSU
* 2 big ten games
* 3 easy ooc games
* SETON HALL (most excited I've been about this game since roughly 1999/2000).
* 2 easy ooc games
I'm hoping at least 10-1 in the 11 easy games and at least 1 but hopefully 2+ wins from the harder games. Hopefully at least 12-3 heading into January.

we are upgrading talent however I do have my concerns about our w/l record this year as well. I am worried about the 2 players losses in Nigel and Gettys. While neither one was all world, I think they both played very vital roles on last years team, and not sure we have people who THIS YEAR can reproduce their production. Defensively the loss of Gettys should not be underestimated. His body and interior D did a lot for last years team.

we are a long overdue to get a HTFDWGTG. Douby being the last one. Maybe Baker and/or Duocore is one of those guys and can replace Gettys and/or Nigel

I am MORE than optimistic about this team

IMO we will be much better than last year, with good recruits[thumb2] & much better depth:boxing:

Our OOC sched is favorable
I actually think we will surprise a few teams:pray:
and
we may just have a

I think the last G is guy. He's talking about Douby, Baker, Duocore in his post.

Oh right... good call. I was reading the previous posts about which games we might pull out and didn't re-read the entire quoted post.

Anybody see the new NBC Big Ten College Hoops Preview online today? Not bad but kind of predictable, imo.
